Aren't they still fighting eminent with all those chop shops in the triangle/Willet's point? That would be cool if they had 2 stadiums and all the bells and whistles they want to put there, but this seems like it's been going on for like a decade. Did they move forward and kick everyone out?
Not a good idea in an area with a high water table just plan it a few hundred yards west; parking lots are fine under a flight path. And yes, very expensive.
Back in NY is great. A bit north in Yonkers is likely to be so much more valuable in the coming decades. Better access for existing season ticket holders in NJ. Better access to Upstate fans in the Hudson Valley. Better access to Western CT fans. Higher ground. Cheaper to build.
Well there looks to be enough space near Citi Field. It would be nice to see the NY Jets back in New York.
This is the best part They are being so quiet about it that they told a guy on a fan forum who pretends he isn't a reporter or a reporters friend
A new stadium wherever it's built in NY sounds great , really Just think...you all get to watch the Dumpster Fire Team perform from luxurious surroundings ...gimme a beer and hot dog please? burp
Exactly. I have it on good authority from a source close to the team (take that for what you will) that Bill Parcells is ready to come out of retirement and take over the team.
Even if true, where would the parking be located or would they have to lease space from CitiField? The stadium would have to be east of CitiField bordered on the north and east by Interstate hwys and the west side by CitiField. No way the Mets allow their parking space to be used for a new Stadium. To the south you have the rail yards.. Can't see how this location would work without a deal with the Mets to use their parking area for a percentage.
I probably would stop going to games. Queens is miserable to get to. No one is going to Mets games because of it.
Driving isn't gonna cut it. Its miserable trying to get out of MetLife. Can you imagine trying to get out of Queens by car?
