No rush for merge Max. Let’s keep it here for a while and we can merge later. Visiting Iraq right now. Still on Page 2 of Becton thread. I wonder if he really closed season :(

Another great article Maxx. But, you missed a bit on some of his injuries. His shoulder injury in 2020 lasted all the way to the spring of 2021. He then suffered the planar fasciitis injury which followed him to camp. In camp he suffered a concussion injury that kept him out all the way to week one.

Thanks, yeah I was trying to keep it a little concise. I mentioned them without getting super specific, and focused more on the knee stuff from now and last year.

Yeah, almost guaranteed. Especially since we've seen he may take a little longer to heal.

"According to him, Becton’s rapid weight loss would likely have helped the stability of his knee structures as well. That means that while Becton’s injuries are unfortunate, they were in no way “preventable.”"

Well this goes against all the medical doctors and physical therapists on TGG.

I really don't believe that people would post incorrect unsubstantiated information on the TGG. Do you?

Not getting it has now crossed multiple threads.

I think in the BS Forum I'm going to push the argument people don't kill people, guns kill people under the same style of debate

Not true. I was tired the other day and broke my leg getting out of bed.

Bickety. What is this man? I edited your post. Please don’t make things personal like that.

@MaximusD163 Did the doctor say his injuries were in no way preventable, or is this how you interpreted him saying the weight loss would have helped the stability of his knee?

It's not even the point the opposite side of this debate is even trying to make. Nobody is claiming his rapid weight loss caused the injury.

It's that he tried to cram getting in shape in between OTA and camp to prove doubters wrong, and that only has face value. Looked great, gassed easily and it attributed to him getting hurt on a routine play. The idea of connecting this play to his injury last year, where he got rolled up from behind, is how do you say.. Not smart? Also saying being fatigued won't increase chance of injury? Yea, also not smart.

He specifically said that he read somewhere that Becton is knock kneed, which can cause a “slight predisposition” towards knee injuries in general, but it’s far from a guarantee that a person has knee issues.

I also asked if he thought that working to get in shape too quickly could have aggravated the knee. He said no, and that the knee was for sure fully healed from last season. Even rapid weight loss would be very beneficial for knee health. He said that the early reports led him to believe the injuries were unrelated, and that his conditioning was fine and did not cause the injury. Shortly after, the official injury was announced and he said this confirmed his analysis. It was a freak accident, and unpreventable. If there was anything at all outside of luck that affected it, it might be that he is knock kneed. Even still, it would have had to be a bad step with bad torque on the knee, such that even a normal knee could have had the same injury.

I genuinely asked the questions expecting a different answer, but he basically said that Becton just has bad luck. I always said that was the case with last year’s injury, but this one I wasn’t sure about.
