Muslim people are obsessed with naming their kids Mohammad. There are times the kid/guy named Mohammed is as annoying as hell. On those situations, when we curse, we put a disclaimer that we are cursing to the person not the name not to annoy God. Any idea why Mexicans name their kids Jesus and Americans don't?
Joshua is the English version of the Hebrew name Yeshua which was Jesus name, Jesus is the Latin version of Yeshua. Basically Joshua and Jesus are the same name
Americans are original. They name their kids things like D’brickashaw, Chuma, Foloronsu and Earthwind.
Wouldn't the answer to your question be in my first sentence, "Joshua is the English version of the Hebrew name Yeshua " Yeshua or Y'shua was a common alternative form of the name Yehoshua in later books of the Hebrew Bible and among Jews of the Second Temple period. I answered that but what proof do you have that more Jewish kids are named Josh over Christians
When someone writes about how something would "seem" that's hardly something that would inspire "proof" but rather an unaudited observation from their own experience. I understood your answer but curiosity asks how it may be that those who worship Jesus, Yeshua, etc would be less inclined to name their offspring a derivative of that name than those who do not.
