Robert Saleh has been preaching it since the day he was hired: They want football players that can win their one on one matchups in crucial moments in the game. 3rd/4th down, 4th quarter, game on the line, etc. Two picks that I think really emphasize this CB Sauce Gardner and WR Garrett Wilson. Not only do these guys have the potential to be excellent in one on one situations, but they also will make each other better players in practice every single day. What are your thoughts on the need for the Jets to WIN these one on ones more? Do you agree that these picks highlight the Jets desire to win on the outside? What about practices? Wilson vs Sauce will hopefully be iron sharpens iron! Both players are going to need to fill some major holes this year and be matched up against season pro bowl type players. So practice against each other and reps will give them experience

If I remember correctly, Lawson was embarrassing Becton on a daily basis. I think that’s what he’s referring to… the “battle” leading to one of the players being terribly exposed.
