Alright, got to be at work very early tomorrow so signing off and praying we don't trade back into the 1st round. 35 and 38 are going to be pure gold tomorrow.
GB missed on all the top WRs, the value is gone. Most all gone. Yet plenty of edge rushers still to be had.
Ojabo was being talked about as a potential top 10 pick prior to getting hurt. His film was extremely impressive. Very athletic, strong, very twitchy, and has a mean spin move. It's nasty. He probably needs more coaching with his overall pass-rushing moves but the moves he does, he does very well. I love him. I really like, Karlaftis. Very much as well. I'd be stoked If we still somehow got one of Jermaine Johnson, Karlaftis, or Ojabo.
Imagine if we waited til the 2nd to draft a WR to take Jermaine Johnson, who may be there in the second round…
With that many Edge options still on the board, I highly doubt It. I wouldn't hate If they moved up though either.
The best prospect is a matter of opinion. Now it has to be proven if he was the best pick. The GM doesn't get praised for not picking the guy who turns out best, even if he thought he was the best prospect at the time.
We would've been wishing we hadn't, for sure. This draft Is shaping up to be a steal for us, fingers crossed. It truly does feel like JD and Co. have a strong ability to read the direction of these drafts based on talent and depth and overall team needs throughout the NFL. It's been impressive to watch so far. Let's hope they nail It.
JD played it right. The value at Edge should be there in Rd 2, unless there's a run here. You have to figure GB grabs a WR & some team tries to grab Willis.
That's the best you can do though within any draft.. You draft with the information you have In front of you. If all teams had that level of insight, you would never see guys like Tom Brady get passed over until the 6th round of the draft. So, you do get praised for making the best picks possible for your team with the information that you have.... Neither of the two picks JD made, were questionable. At all. What more could you want there?
You don't think the potential Is worth the wait though? Man, he had some impressive film. I'd take him without a doubt for that payoff. I'm not a doctor though. I get what you are saying for sure.
It's not just my opinion. @GasedAndConfused put together a composite chart giving the average of many big boards. Wilson was the #1 WR prospect. Not sure why you can't separate process from outcome. If you have a good process (like taking the best prospect) then your outcome will be good more times than not.
If we wanted to trade up for Johnson we can but this is odd he fell so far. Even Devin Lloyd I would. really hope Linderbaum is there for us
