Full article is on ESPN+ Top 5 Teams according to ESPN are as below. I included the write up on Jets. For those of you who can access ESPN+, link is below. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/st...teams-far-key-signings-best-roster-moves-more 1) Chargers - Key signings: WR Mike Williams, CB J.C. Jackson, DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, DT Austin Johnson 2) Bills Key signings: OLB Von Miller, G Rodger Saffold III, DT DaQuan Jones, DT Tim Settle, TE O.J. Howard, C Mitch Morse, WR Isaiah McKenzie 3) Jets Key signings: G Laken Tomlinson, CB D.J. Reed, S Jordan Whitehead, TE C.J. Uzomah, TE Tyler Conklin, DE Jacob Martin, WR Braxton Berrios The Jets entered the offseason with a laundry list of roster holes, and they've done a respectable job filling several of those voids without spending egregiously (we're looking at you, Jaguars). Perhaps the most notable is long-time 49ers standout Tomlinson, who provides an immediate upgrade at right guard. GM Joe Douglas also chipped away at 2021's league-worst defense, adding Reed, Whitehead and Martin. A converted safety, Reed has quietly emerged into a quality corner in Seattle over the past few seasons and gives New York the No. 1 corner that it didn't have in 2021. Whitehead was a gem find by Tampa Bay on Day 3 of the 2018 draft, and he emerged into a reliable every-down player for the Super Bowl LV champs. And Martin was, at times, the top edge rusher in Houston. He'll be a quality No. 3 behind Carl Lawson and John Franklin-Myers in New York. Speaking of Houston, the Jets also landed the Texans' sixth-round draft pick in exchange for linebacker Blake Cashman, who has appeared in 14 games over the past three seasons due to injuries. The Jets haven't truly solved tight end since the Dustin Keller era about a decade ago, so they took steps to solve that by committee, signing a pair of 2021 starters in Uzomah and Conklin. That's a nice upgrade over last season's Ryan Griffin-Tyler Kroft duo. New York also re-signed slot receiver Berrios, who racked up 25 touches during his final four games last season. 4) Ravens Key signings: S Marcus Williams, OT Morgan Moses 5) Steelers Key signings: G James Daniels, C Mason Cole, CB Levi Wallace, LB Myles Jack, QB Mitchell Trubisky, OT Chukwuma Okorafor
the Jags have made some serious moves too but to me, the TE moves have the potential to be the best thing JD has done. I like both of them big time.
It is now time to become excited my friend, pray that Wilson is the QB and we will be turning that corner next season for sure.
Can you imagine if we had lost Braxton Berrios? We'd have gone from 3rd best to the NFL's biggest losers! BRAXTON!!!!!
I think articles of this type are pure stupidity and nothing better than click bait. You can have the best players, but if you have poor coaching your team will never go anywhere. Vice versa is just as true. The Jets have proven to have several decent coaches but horrid players. Right now, this Jets team needs to know if Robert Saleh can coach. We haven't seen that yet as far as I'm concerned...
I agree 100%, I’m not sold on Saleh and his all-Similac CS. I actually believe they are not the right CS to help turn this around.
I’m extremely concerned about the wr room, paper thin right now and even adding a high draft choice mostl limo doesn’t do much for this year. We should have been in on woods. I have a feeling the receivers will be our thorn this year….. again
As I always say, wins are the only thing that matter to me, when I see this team play competitive football, and start compiling wins on a week in and week out basis with this CS then I’ll be convinced.
I don’t think davis is a mistake, he’s a solid receiver being paid accordingly. But we need more. Davis,Moore, Berrios and mims are the top 4. Even if you throw in the top wr in the draft it’s not a deep group if you plan on making noise this year and still makes wr a need next draft unless Davis really has a year. I said in a bother thread. Expect a lot of 21 personnel packages the way it stands right now.
True. But it's hard to judge Saleh on last season. That roster was the youngest in the league with a rookie QB and then a ton of injuries. Not making excuses, just taking a more wait-and-see approach. The players like and respect him which is a good thing. We didn't really see too many in game gaffes and the team always seemed ready to play. My biggest gripe would be the defense. It was horrendous and I hope we see a huge turnaround in year 2.
We all can agree that the roster last year had too many kids and not enough viable vets to succeed. This year, JD has bought in (hopefully), Vets that can both stay off the IRL and add value when they're on the field. Saleh and his CS unfortunately were collateral damage in this ill conceived adventure in roster building. With the influx of quality FA talent, Saleh, LeFleur and Ulbrich should have a easier time of turning this roster into a team instead of 53 guys wearing the same uniform. They are two very different things and it will also take time. Since every team has also made moves, we may be better on paper but so are a lot of teams in our division so expecting a Bengals like turnaround is a sweet dream and nothing more. We absolutely should expect a better team on the field this year. Expecting a quantum leap to playoff contention isn't realistic. We are getting incrementally better yes. We're not 1 or 2 players away from a juggernaut. Hopefully by the end of the season, we'll be relevant again.. Keep your fingers crossed on that..
I like a few receivers coming out this year too, but banking on rookies isn’t a high percentage play. We needed to add a vet and a rookie this year.
I think we probably were in on Woods, but out of respect for him, the Rams let him choose to which team he would be traded. Obviously, he wanted to play for the TN Titans, and not the former NY Titans.
I think he still will add a vet or maybe resign Cole. Moore will be in year 2 and Mims year 3. Plus adding possibly the best WR in the class at 10 if Atlanta doesn’t beat us to the punch.
