This is a great week for Jets fans, Play-offs, Chad is recognised for his great comeback, Dolphins are going nuts about Saban..... I was just thinking back to early in the season when we were all pondering the positive and minus of letting John A go. I watched the opening day game between Atlanta and Carolina, (we have take what they give us early in season over here in the UK), and Abrahms was outstanding, I mean it almost made me cry, he was a one man wrecking machine and the Falcons must have thought they had the steal of the decade. I think back to that play-off game against San Diego and he was there nursing that 'injury' and wonder now what he must be thinking about things worked out? Thoughts?
He was thinking "What part of the bench can I park my fat ass on during this playoof game so I don't get hurt before re-signing?"
Since John Abraham is (not Abrhams) is more fragile than 3000 year old China, I would think this is a good trade for us. In the end we got Mangold, who is the opposite of Abraham, back for him. He is tough (battling the knee and thigh injury) smart, and has really anchored our line. We are fortunate to have him, as he is and will be one of the elite centers in the game. As for Abraham, if he could stay on the field for a few games, and stop the run, he could be good. I mean, he does pass rush like hell, but he would probably be better as an OLB. Truth be told, we needed a center and we got a great one. I think this is actually a steal for us.
it worked out for him and us....he got the pay day he wanted.....got to play closer to home.....and we got mangold.....i say good riddance!!
I know john will be watching and saying to himself..."Hey, at least I got my money"....good riddance is what I say....ATL doesn't even have a coach right now
I believe John Abraham played somewhere in the vicinity of 8 to 12 quarters in the 16 game schedule!..What does that come out to per quarter..Thank god we got rid of him and got Mangold..that was a steal!
I think he is pretty happy in the insurance agency, he's got his own company and everything: http://www.calculateme.com/car-insurance/new-york/newburgh.htm Really inspiring what work can do for you.
Actually, to answer the poster's question, Mr. Abrahms is having a rough go of it right now in the insurance agency. You see a client of his was robbed about a month ago, (nice, wealthy American family, 6 kids, lost everything) and they have total robbery coverage. So, of course, Mr. Abrahms tried to wiggle out of signing the check (as all insurance companies do). But, a couple of lawsuits, a tiring trial, and an arrest warrant got him to do so. Now his company is in the red and going Chapter 11, and these are his thoughts: "Why did I get into this stupid business anyway? I coulda been a damn good football player makin lots of money...but of course I'd use my insurance nature and wiggle out of playing in important contract years where I might hurt myself."
I'm sure John Abrahms would be asking us what we're thinking if he could. He's probably going over a claim though.
