I don't want to be a downer or anything, but I think it is appropriate to note a poster who is conspicuous in his absence this week - nightowl tom. You know that he would have loved this matchup, and we all would have benefited from his expert analysis and commentary. I think it's only right that as we're cheering for our boys in green this Sunday, we pause for a moment and raise a glass to Tom. We know that you'll be watching from on high, Tom, but no fair arranging any heavenly intervention for the Pats!
Absolutely Jeff, we all shared good experiences with him on the forum, and it's nice to keep him in thoughts, especially this week.
He passed away in June from cancer. I tried to find the tribute thread for him (my nomination for thread of the year, by the way), but I can't seem to find it. Was it pre-crash?
Oh wow your guys are a class act. I am just 20 years old and a beginner in this forum but seeing something like this is definitely something special. I wish him well.
I cant believe he died! i wasnt on for a while (over the summer) and never ran across anything like this about him...when i saw his sig pic i never looked at the name i just figured it was him. wow thats really sad. lets hope hes got a seat next to weeb....that way he will have everyone here in his ear during the game. thats just sad man....
Holy crap!!!! I knew I have been infrequent here the past 6 months or so...but this is a BIG THUD for me! Damn...I liked Tom alot!!! Essshhhh... Live life to the fullest people because you never know.... It may be late but my heart felt feelings go out to his entire family. Damn...just ruined my night...RIP Tom and no slipping the big man for any help on Sunday! (would be just his style) ;-)
Holy crap, I didn't know he passed away either. I must have been away from the site at that time. He was a good poster, even though he was a Pats fan he was still a classy guy.
We can best remember the dead by keeping their ideals alive. Let's enjoy the NFL playoffs this weekend. Rest in Peace Tom. TBTF
Tom was a nice guy, a class act and a knowledgable football fan. I'm sure he has the NFL ticket, and will be talking to the big guy for a lucky break here and there! Been a while since I spoke with Mrs Tom.... I should give her a call.
