While I’d like a talented veteran WR for ZW and White, don’t think OBJ is a fit. In fact Mayfield does better without him and is 15-11 and has a 96,4 rating. Yes Cleveland has talent offense but don’t think it s a fluke to why Mayfield and Browns play better without him.
Not for me, don't need this malcontent in a team trying to build confidence and an identity. Been downhill since that boat trip to Miami. Hope he goes to Green bay or someone in the NFC, just as when the guy plays and plays well, he's good fun to watch. 2nd point, does he still have it? Might be a good 1000 yard type but elite? Probably not. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Looks like he wants to go to Seattle. Report: Odell Beckham Jr. has a preferred destination - Sports Illustrated
Hopefully he goes there and Adams and him fall out about being top dog and the Seahawks get fucked over and give us a top 5-10 pick next year.
There is 0 chance that JD will want him here. He wants high character guys for his locker room and OBJ just doesn't qualify. Also, does OBJ even go through the waiver claims process? Isn't that only for players with less than 4 years of experience? I think he might just be a free agent (with nearly all of his comp from Cleveland until his guarantees are used up).
no…he does go through it. If no one claims him, which most are thinking that no one will, then he becomes a free agent.
Detroit Lions released WR tyrell williams to clear space and they have 1st dibs on the waiver wire. Would be funny if they get him
Here's the thing, every GM HC combo we ever get "wants high character guys" though. Remember "he's not a Mangini guy"? It goes for all of them because there's a lesson learned in drafting shitbags named Pacman Jones. Just because a guy is a loudmouth diva doesn't make them a bad character guy or the Patriots never would have traded for Moss. I personally want no part of O'Dell because I think he's been living on that 1 handed catch for years, but in other areas I think the strict requirements for team captains and choir boys can take a back seat to skill and intelligence.
There was a big emphasis and excitement around Idzik exclusively looking for team captains and good guys in the 2014 draft. And none of them could play football.
If he can rush the passer, stop the run, stop the hot dog vendors from rushing for over 150 yards per game, I'm in, otherwise, no way in hell do you bring this me first player into this situation.
No, not happening. JD would not do that. The only situation would be if the Jets were SB contenders and desperately needed a wide receiver. And it would probably be a short term deal; a rental.
Jordan Schultz on Twitter: " Breaking: Odell Beckham, Jr. has prioritized the #Packers as his No. 1 destination should he clear waivers, per sources." / Twitter
Bad character guys are not the problem. Lawrence Taylor was a bad character guy and Parcells loved him just the same. Selfish guys are the problem. And unfortunately, Odell Beckham is a selfish guy. Selfish guys can wreck a team really quickly.
Idzik was who I was thinking of with that post, and then with Macc and Douglas you'd see people remarking on how many team captains they drafted and I'm there thinking "remember when Idzik drafted 11 team captains that one time?"
Interesting. I read elsewhere that Seattle was his favored destination, and I also read that there's 3 teams he's considering (I think the Raiders are the other team) and his agent and he are going to take a few days and think about it.
