Am I the only one who loved those all black unis? Made the Jets look menacing and for once, intimidating. Too bad the Cheerladies didn't wear their black catsuits.. Those were just too damn hot...
How about Saleh’s decision to take ball first which you just never see anymore in today’s NFL. Everything about the team felt different with that first drive and being up 7-0 instead of down 7-0 after first drive changes the entire game.
This summer I never thought that I would become a fan of JDs decision to sign Fant. But, he looks better every week. In regards to MC2 he is becoming really good. Even the one pass completed on him Sunday only got by him by a hair. This man can play. Which in one sense is a shame as Guidry is very good as well. MC1 was 6th at 72.2 White 7th at 70.0
Any news on his status for Thursday. I'm hoping Edoga isn't needed, although I can't recall him doing anything terrible either.
He had a bad false start on the last drive that made us go from 3nd an 6 to 3rd and 11. We were bailed out on the next play by the AWFUL call against Hilton for unnecessary roughness.
Sorry, but I hate, HATE, HATE the all black unis. I think the idea that black makes them look tougher and more menacing is silly and passé and has been overdone to death. If a team has to do something like that for an edge, then they aren't very good, and it shows a lack of creativity if they're wanting a different look. Our colors are green and white. Period. With the all black, there's only a little bit of green and the green helmet looks bad with the black imo. For the life of me, I don't understand why people want to change the team's colors. If people don't like the color green, why in the hell did they start rooting for the Jets? Why didn't don't they root for the Raiders, Steelers, Falcons or some other team who has black as their base color. Just in case someone throws this out there, I know that the Titans' unis were blue and gold, but once the team changed its name to the Jets, it's been green and white.
IMO this once again points out how ridiculously flawed PFF's rating scheme is. White threw a couple of interceptions, but the threw for over 400 yards and 2 TDs (?) in his first start. He kept the offense moving and in sync. Giving him a grade that low is total BS.
I love the black unis and would love to see them as our home unis. Black on Black at home & white on white on road would be great.
As great as Elijah Moore's effort was ----- Denzel Mims is even more impressive. He was on the other side of the field out of the play & just sprinted w/the angle. I honestly hope someone points that out to Saleh. Lets take a step back from the "needs to learn Special Teams" stuff. This organization will be better off with Mims than without him (unless he nets a low 2nd round draft pick in a trade).
I agree it is subjective but it gives ys an objective measurement that can help us confirm what we think we saw while watching the game. I don't think 70 is a low grade. A number of weeks that would have been the highest graded Jet. Good job by everyone stepping up their game. MC2 and Ty Johnson did turn a number of nothing plays into big plays. They were both huge. Glad to see BH and MC2 continue their great play. But to see two OL in the too 5 is especially good to see as it said the team is not only making progress but progressing in important positions. These rankings also confirm what we have been saying the first 6 weeks. For the offense to improve everyone needs to play better. The OL, rbs, wrs, cs and qb. We saw improvements in every area. When one position makes less mistakes it is easier on everyone else and because of that everyone else improves until it snowballs into 1st downs and points.
George Fant is quietly becoming quite the enigma. He seems to be much better at LT than RT. In 3 weeks I have reversed my earlier position of releasing him at season's end or renegotiating his last contract year. If he maintains his play level & we try that ---- he'll just leave & likely get a better $$ offer somewhere else. And agree w/you on MC2. I was/am a big Javelin Guidry slot CB fan. Getting him as UDFA last year was a great pickup. But MC2 is playing lights out as a 5th round rookie. He plays like an experienced vet.
I thought Minus the false start, Egoda held his own and offense kept going, including some key runs. Glad he s getting some reps. Meanwhile If reports on Becton are true, they ll have need guys like Egoda though not spectacular but solid to step up.
Well, its hard to find Hess gas stations these days. That's the source of the green the Jets wear. A lot of teams in the league have an all-black/solid color variant. You gotta admit the all black unis are a quantum leap over the color rush thing they did a few years ago. I like the Cardinals black and red. Atlanta's black and red also. The Jets look pretty good in their black unis and that goes triple for the Cheerladies. Those black catsuits are smokin hot!
Fant looks real solid when playing the LT position. At this point, Bechton should be moved to RG and just be an absolute mauler.
PFF grading has a lot of flaws, and their methodology, which places a high weight on "big-time throws," is going to underrate a QB who plays like White did. But at the same time, I can't see how it's sustainable for a QB to put up those traditional stats without ever throwing the ball downfield. Defenses are going to adapt, so unless White has more up his sleeve, he's going to be a one hit wonder.
It doesn't matter where the green came from. That's their color. These ladies would look hot in any color. One of the things I hated living in NYC was all the dark, drab colors that women wore all the freaking time. black, gray, navy blue. Rarely bright colors or pastels. In my world, black clothing is formal concert attire (tuxedos and tails.)
How is 70 not a low grade? Would you have been happy with a 70 (D-) on a major test or final exam in school?
Get with the times @Cman65 .... those are now called "Cheerpersons". Please continue to objectify them with this in mind...
