These are things you would expect from young players and early in a season. We are seeing this from rookie and vets and it has only gotten marginally better.

The worst thing you can do on a football field is think to much. If you are thinking what you have to do instead of reacting you are beat.

    and

Spot on, guys!!! We ALL know this or should!!! We've seen it a thousand times when players are learning a new system/scheme and/or with rookies. When they have to think too much, they are lost, and beaten. This is not the right scheme for our team and must be abandoned following this clusterfuck of a season, along with firing LaFleur. If Saleh doesn't go along, then he must go too.

Like I've said in another post, in my opinion, you should keep things as simple as possible. Football players aren't geniuses for the most part and shouldn't be spending too much time "learning the scheme". Good execution is crucial so make the scheme simple so the players have time to perfect the execution.

I think it helped a little that he had a QB making his first start, who was playing like an established 10 year veteran. It's almost as if LaFleur knew exactly what plays to call for the kid. Entire offense gets an A+ today.

Could be a fluke game, but people forget that this dude is a rookie OC, going to develop along the season (ideally). I think it also helped that White might be better at running the offense, seems to have more confidence and accuracy with the short pass than ZW, who has struggled with the easy stuff so far.

The easy stuff is the stuff you must be able to do to play QB in the NFL.

Wondering where the people are claiming this team has an issue with talent.

Talent is not the problem. The problem has been the scheme.

The offense Lafleur called today was an entirely different offense. And it is no coincidence he did it from the booth where he has admitted he is more comfortable

Not a fluke, a statement game.

You're only as strong as your weakest link. Wilson's been holding this team back. Lafleur was off the charts today, solid game plan and enough tricks to scare the Bengals.

Disagree. Wilson has not been holding us back. Lafleur has and today he proved he can make adjustments and call a better game

Wilson has not been sharp. He's had some flourishes. White was a seasoned pro today. He had 11 straight completions to open the game.

None of us have witnessed a Jet QB playing this well in ages. White deserves to stay under center.

Wilson also did not benefit from this playcalling nor did he benefit from Lafleur in the booth, which I think plays a HUGE role in what we saw today.

The playcalling has been total shit all year. The offense we saw today was the result of an entirely different offense that was not relying on a QB to make crazy throws or consistent throws over 20 yards.

Again, Wilson was not holding this team back. Lafleur was. Hands down. Props to him for making the adjustments today

Let's also give credit to all of the peripheral parts that make an offense successful.

Good protection in the passing game.
Good push in the run game.
    Hardly any dropped passes.
    Hardly any penalties.

Also shout-out to Michael Carter(rb). He looks like our bell cow going forward.
