Ok, fair enough. I just wanted to give the other side of the story. You can find fault with both sides. Although he had a contract for a promotion when Parcells retired, in this business coaches get out of contracts all the time. I can't blame BB for feeling like a pawn in the Parcells/Kraft war, but at the same time, I can blame BB for taking Hess' money and letting himself be Parcells bitch for way too long.
I think its pretty obvious why BB hates the Jets organization. It all starts with that a$$hole Terry Bradway. If you guys haven't heard of the story yet, its your own fault. It was all over the papers at the time. I think most of you hate Belichick not becuase of teh coach, but because of what might have been. Perhaps if the Jets handled things differently you'd have 3 more rings.
Belichik was given ONE MILLION DOLLARS not to leave the season before he ran to New England by Leon Hess. The money was given to him as compensation, and with the understanding he was going to coach the Jets when Parcells wanted out. Belichik is no victim, no matter how he wants to paint the situation. And he never gave the million back after leaving town.
What else would we expect, hoe could he not hate us. after all we were wlling to gamble on him after his disatrous years in Cleveland and he was very well paid and even got a $mil bonus to for no reason in '99 when no other team wanted him. He has so many reasons to hate us
How long have you been a jets fan? thats been common knowledge since al groh took the HC job. BP dropped the coaching gig after the '99 season, because he enjoyed working for Hess, once he died, it was a big mess because the Hess kids were gonna sell the team, and Parcells role as GM/Coach was up in the air so he really wanted nothing to do with Woody Johnson or any football coaching job..at the time. Its really Bill Parcells fault BB left the jets.
Wow 1 million. WOW. I am sure you know the details about him keeping that money too. That's crap. There is nothing around that confirms that. The Jets also got first round compensation for it. He's making around 2.5 per year with the Pats, and went there on his on accord by a team who wanted him. Keep believing what you want to believe.

Honestly, I wasn't aware that it was actually on paper. I thought it was just an "understanding." If he violated a contract, that makes him dirty, on top of being a scumbag. Not that breaking a handshake agreement makes him any better. (Some people actually have enough class to keep a promise, obviously not BB.)
The jets hired him as HC when BP stpped down and they knew it would be after '99. The jets also gave him a Mil dollar bonus to stay after '98 en though no one was goin to hire him after that season. I blame Parcells more than anybody but what Belichick did was wrong and his hatred of us for it is psychotic.
I would honestly love to see the Mangini/Belichick feud come to an end. It most likely will never happen..but the media hype is enough to drive me crazy.... The Mangenius vs The Genius. gimmie a break.
