One of the 3 Stooges from the Joe Walton days... He along with Dave Cadigan and Jeff Criswell were the Moe, Larry, and Curley of NFL offensive linemen in the late 80s.
The trade of Abraham to Atlanta for the pick that became Mangold was probably the best and most underated offseason move of any team!! God how I hated the selfish Bum !

Jeff Criswell actually turned into a decent LT for 4-5 years. Not great but steady. Haight and Cadigan were complete busts.....
Haight was just one big mistake in a history of mistakes. When you look at some of those drafts, it not surprising the organization has struggled so much over the years. There are some doozies.
Haight and Cadigan were NOT busts...they were both on the line for years....Haight was an average lineman, Cadigan a bit better but penalty-prone. Neither reminded anyone of "The Bookends" from the late 1970's/early 1980's, but they were serviceable. Not the reason we stunk at all.
And remember Cadigan started very well in his rookie year and then suffered a really serious knee injury.
As I recall they were very good pass protectors. Where they struggled was in the running game. But by no means were they a bottom feeding unit.
Haight was a washout from the very beginning. C & C were very serviceable but Criswell was a bit more penalty prone then Cadigan. There is a reason why their nicknames were "The Penalty Pals"
The 1986 Draft might be the worst draft all-time Mike Haight Doug Williams (no not that Doug Williams) Tim Crawford Rogers Alexander Ron Hadley Bob White Robert Ducksworth Nuu Faola Carl Carr Vince Amola Sal Cesario Out of 11 guys I recognize 3 of them.... but nne of them were anything to right home about 1987 wasn't much better with the best player being Roger Vick whom we didn't need 1988 wasn't too bad with Erik McMillan and James Hasty being picked in the 3rd and 4th rounds In 1989 we drafted Lageman, Byrd and Joe Mott 1990 it was Blat Thomas 1991 was a good one because we took Rob Moore the sup draft and missed Brett Favre Ouch if you look at the draft history on the website it's a good way to make yourself throw up....
This was the year in which ONE of the draft picks made the team. Everyone else was cut out of training camp. If I were Leon Hess at the time, I'd have overhauled the entire personnel department at that moment. In fact, aside from Haight and Doug Williams (the OT), the only other name I recognize is the immortal Nuu Faaola. Pathetic. Also, we drafted Mo Lewis in 1990. That one turned out pretty decent. In one of those years, we got Hasty and Brian Washington. Think that was 1988. My bad, I see Hasty in 88.
hahaha! One backup out of an entire draft class! pretty good job, guys! Was Leon Hess actually Paying people for these kinds of decisions! bwhahaha
