I know everyone is posting opinions and viewpoints right now. I also know that we as a fan base have seen a lot of garbage football over the course of many years. To me this year felt different, it was supposed to be different and here we are. 1. This O line blows dog. Its so bad that Joe Biden could get atleast 2 sacks and that fuckin guy can't even walk up stairs without falling. With the line playing this bad, why don't we roll Zach out? Give the kid a fighting chance to make something happen. It doesn't help that Becton can't stay healthy at all. McGovern and GVR are hot . 2. The receiver's suck, between the countless drops and the ability to get no separation Zach doesn't have a prayer. Now Moore has a concussion so thats great. Dont even get me going about Mims not playing. I mean its not like the group we are rolling out every week are a bunch of world beaters. You mean to tell me that this coaching staff can't design a few plays for the kid? 3. While the defense has played okay, they still can't make the big stops when needed. I mean freaking Tim Patrick was killing us today. Q needs to start being this dominant player we all talk about. 4. The dumb ass penalties, I mean holy shit. It doesn't matter what players we have or coaching staff it never freaking ends. I mean taunting, false starts, illegal formations etc...they are killing any momentum we have. 5. I know a lot of people have been saying that this year isn't about the wins, its about developing the entire team. While I understand that, I feel thats the wrong focus. Unless we over pay free agents who wants to join this cluster fuck. We also are burning cheap years of these rookie contracts. When can this team be about winning and not waiting for players to develop. 6. JD needs to hit on this next draft or he can kick rocks. Last years draft is either hurt all the time or not even on the freaking team. Other than Hall, what do we have to show for last year's draft? People will say its 3 freaking games and I get that. My point is this team looks just as bad as it did the last few years. I mean there is nothing positive about this team right now.
As I said in another thread, this is all on JD. Its HIS CS, its HIS FA's, its HIS DP's, its HIS OL. I'm sorry, but the honeymoon with JD needs to end and the reality of our situation has to be acknowledged. This team has NOT improved under JD or this new 49'ers CS. The offense is putrid which is a function of both the OC and JD's OL. Whoever the idiot was that felt we didn't need a viable Vet QB needs his ass kicked repeatedly all year. I'm done with the excuses. I want to see improvement. I'm done with JD stockpiling DP's and then drafting bums or worse yet, stockpiling FA cash and then overpaying for mediocre talent. Finally, the next time I read that Corey Davis is a true #1 wr I'm gonna puke. Keenan Cole? Might as well be Keenan Wayans. Braxton Berrios is our version of Dedric Ward and amazingly enough, our only big play WR can't get on the field because "he doesn't know the playbook".. As we used to say back in the hood... Fck this bullshit... Play Better Fucking Football!!!!!!!!!!!
A great post really. This is exactly how I feel. Especially in the bolded part, you hit the nail in the head.
Root Cause: JD should never have allowed Saleh, a first time defensive coach, to hire a personal friend who's a first time offensive coordinator.
Yep.. a first time HC hires his buddy who is a first time OC to develop a first time #2 overall FQB.. Recipe for failure if I've ever seen one.
The Johnson's remind me of poor business management, who's looking for a leader with a silver bullet playbook. There's no such thing as a one-size fits all brilliant offensive scheme. You build the scheme around the talent. And you build the game plan around the situation. These f*cking johnsons don't get it.
And for the record, I'm not freaking out about the future. Yet. I love Zach. I'm freaking out because I see the path to us ruining ANOTHER quarterback. We need Bill O'Reilly to give his buddy Woody Johnson the rights to the "Killing <insert historic figure here>" series. So Woody can write his version.... Killing Mark Sanchez Killing Sam Darnold Killing Zach Wilson
At least Joe Douglas didn't kill Sam Darnold. With mercy, he traded him to the coach we decided against, in favor of Adam Gase. Holy Sh*t.
