Assuming you meant "saw," I didn't see anything until the fourth quarter, which is why I asked if it's on later tonight or tomorrow. His numbers look good, but I want to see it.

Problem is I know enough about football to know that most of the beat guys, especially the twitter guys, know a lot less about the game as I do. Any football coach will tell you that you cant always tell who blew a blocking assignment if you didnt know the play and the pre snap call.
I do know this, all the complaints of camp have yet to show in a game

Haven't had a "real" game yet. I'll wait longer than this to develop an opinion and much longer before I finalize it. I also won't surmise how much any particular writer knows about the game, especially those who may have been covering the team for longer than some here criticizing them have been alive.

Both games he played against backups. So, yeah, It's still a concern at this point.

It's pretty easy to write off the media these days if they aren't saying something you want to hear, but they have access to the team that you would sell a part of your body for, at every open practice and media avail practice, they travel with the team for games and joint practices, they talk to the players and coaches both on and off the record.

They are doing exactly what any of us would be doing with that access, collecting as much information as they understand to portray a somewhat complete picture of what they can.

So simply dismissing information they provide is fairly dumb. If they aren't interpreting that data correctly then sometimes you have to take the info they provide and assemble your own picture of the situation, but the information is out there in both press conferences and interviews and also in the observations these beat writers make.

And they have almost unanimously reported that Becton is struggling. They not only see him practice and get beat, they see the position coaches pulling him aside to fix things every time his footwork suffers and how frequently that happens vs other linemen.

I don't think 'worry" is the word I would use but I definitely see signs that Becton is pretty far behind the curve in the new offense.

My problem is, the same people you claim here are also the same reporters who have been wrong time and time again about players leading into the season. These are the same people that were praising Sam Darnold's "progress" leading into the 2020 season.

Hell, Connor Hughes, who I tend to like, went on a rampage against Quinnen Williams because he is great for headlines but then turns silent all year when the season starts. This industry is about headlines. Whatever drives clicks and whatever creates controversy.

If you don't want to make up your mind based on his preseason so far, that's understandable. I've made up my mind watching him start as a rookie and shut down the best pass rushers in the game last year.

True...up to a point. If the "D" can't stop anyone, the pressure on Zach to outscore the other team will be huge, and that's when mistakes and injuries happen. I'm not expecting anything like the defense I thought we'd have less than a week ago, but they need to much better than what they're showing today.

It wasn't on the NFL Network. It was broadcasting on WLNY 55.

What a difference when your QB knows how to move in the pocket and how to get rid of the ball accurately with zip.

I liked Sam and wanted him to succeed, but he contributed to the pressure he got, and it got to the point where no one respected his arm because they figured he would miss. Zach is a whole 'nother animal.

What state do you live in? I live in Jersey and my cousin lives on Bayside, Queens and we both saw they were not on the NFL Network (instead they were replaying yesterday's Pat's vs. Eagles game starting at 4:30 PM).

Wilson looked really solid today--even if it was against the Packers second team--he played well vs. a good ball club on their home turf.

What I love about Zach is his ability to stay in the pocket with poise and go through his progressions. You can tell he's really looking to do something from the pocket, before having to go off script (which he does quite well). This is something that will translate no matter who he plays. The way he moves his feet is so natural for the position--such a clear difference from the way Sam was with throwing from poor platforms.

The foundation is there for this kid to be very good, just need to protect him well and continue giving him weapons in the next 1-3 years.

While I agree that Morgan didn't look good, I think we have to give him more time. I think they only had him pass 3 times, the rest were hand offs. He's got a gun for an arm. Unless they can find someone better and cheaper, I'd like to see them keep him. I hope he plays a lot more next week - maybe Zach for a quarter, then bring Morgan in and if he's playing well, let him play the 2nd and 3rd Qtrs.

Agree on all the other points.

Last week's game was re-televised the next morning at 10:00am EDT (8:00am MDT). You might check your schedule for tomorrow morning and if you can set it to record.

A lot of that has to do with the Jets' STs. He had to change his kicking style last year and go for more height and hang time because he kept outkicking the Jets' coverage. This year we have faster gunners, so he should be able to revert more to his previous punting style.
