Why can’t he be concerned though? No 2 Jets fans are exactly the same just like human beings. It makes for more interesting discussions when we don’t participate in group think.

I totally back IIMeanDeanII on this. He got on board and hoped for the best with Wilson, and I think he is being reasonable. Sadly, I can't say that for 4-5 others who sound more like trolls or fans of other teams than they do "Jets fans."

This is an excellent summary of current status IMO. Most fans are concerned with so many new pieces. Nothing wrong with that. That’s a given. But for some to say that so far we have seen more bad than good, well I strongly disagree. Not this year. There is so much more to like than years past. Still it’s a long road ahead and much to improve.

Hey, you know what? This is a fan's opinion board. We don't have to agree. It's perfectly okay for many of us to disagree, otherwise it would be boring.

Now, can we get back to discussing actual observations from T.C.?

What part of my posts are trolling?

The offense has been struggling almost the entire training camp thus far. The media who have availability to watch these practices have voiced that Wilson has struggled on a fairly consistent basis throughout this training camp thus far. Typically when you see more bad than good, that hasn't been a good sign of things to come.

I have stated numerous times that It is In fact still early. I have stated numerous times now that I WANT this team to succeed, I WANT to be proven wrong with my gut feeling, I WANT to be wrong about Zach Wilson.

I have stated my concerns. What about my concerns has been of a trolling context? How are my concerns now valid? Better yet, who declares that, you?

I am simply stating. There has been more bad than good reported for this offense since training camp has commenced. I am not convinced that this team, and, this QB are the answer. I HOPE they are though.

I am not saying they ARE NOT the answer either. I am stating that It looks like a familiar story thus far, that story has yet to have a good ending for us.

So... UNTIL I see that these pieces of the puzzle are the right pieces. I'm just not going to be all-In that this Is FINALLY the time we turn It around.

    We shall see. That's It.

How Is that trolling? Makes ZERO sense.

The reason I believe certain posters are blind Is because they don't care about debating anything. They just want to press their agenda, degrade anyone that opposes that agenda, at all cost. There Is no other option, only that you oppose their views.

I appreciate your post. You clearly want to actually have a conversation. I respect that completely and would love to actually do so with another poster.

It's premature to say this OL has 'Immensely' improved, considering our DL has been dominating them. In the pass and run. We won't know If they are that much better until we get Into real game contact.
Elijah seems to be the real deal. I have a lot of great vibes about that kid, along with his future, given he remains healthy.
Lawson Is looking like a fantastic signing for us, especially with his age, It looks like a bright future potentially.
Mosley still has a lot to prove before I'm ready to go to that conclusion.
Just because the team loves the coach, doesn't mean the coach will be a winner. I don't care If he Is loved, I care If he wins.

I feel you think I am not aware of the potentially "good" aspects of this team. I am. Even with that though, It needs to be proven to me at this point, on the field. In game. The good and the bad are all speculation right now. I, have a tendency to look at patterns, I use those patterns to identify potentially problematic scenarios for my life. I use that same concept with my fandom of this team.

I KNOW the history of things with this team. I KNOW what It's like to go all-In on a feeling. I did that very thing with Rex Ryan. It looked like a smart call for a couple years, then, as we all know, the wheels fell off. We haven't been the same since.

Players have looked good one year, disappeared the next. I could go on and on with that list.

I just need to see It at this point. In the meantime, I just want a place to voice my concerns and have legitimate debates/conversations with fellow NYJ fans. I'm not interested In ruining anyone's optimistic outlook, I am interested In having actual conversations though, Instead of the same blind fandom narrative I've been seeing from several other posters.

As for the other 4 points.

I'm still not a believer of Wilson. I support him, I want him to be good, I want him to be the "savior" of this team. Do I think he will be? Nope. Do I want him to be? Yep. We will know soon enough.

I think our secondary Is actually going to be sneaky good. I think they are very overrated and I do have a feeling that Saleh will get the very best out of these young guys. It's telling to me that they are that confident In these young guys, to the point they have not bothered to trade or acquire anyone else at the position.

Saleh. I do get a good feeling about him overall. Again though, even though I feel good about him, It needs to be seen that he Is a winner. That's all I care about.

Turf... lol I don't have a real opinion on this matter. Sorry.

Again though. I'm all about this type of conversation. I'm not here to derail, I am here to conversate and debate. The good AND the bad.

I actually think Wilson will end up having a solid pre-season. It was not all bad so far. I expect a few solid days coming up and a decent pre-season.

For reference, here is what Sam did during his rookie pre-season: 29 of 45 passes for 244 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick at 5.4 yards per attempt and an 83.9 passer rating. I anticipate Zach to do something similar, maybe even better.

    This Is perspective though.

For you, I can understand your stance. I wouldn't dare say you are wrong for what you see/feel In those terms.

    However.

I appreciate that you say you strongly disagree with posters that claim (like myself) that there Is more bad than good. To clarify though, I am specifically talking about the struggles of the offense throughout the entirety of this training camp. So far. From all I've seen and read. It seem there has been more bad than good from, again, everything I've read and seen.

    Wilson struggles.
    Bechton consistently being beat.
    OL run game struggles.
    Drops.
    Offense stalling fairly consistently.
Hall erasing Moore from making plays. (Which Is also good from a defensive perspective.)
    Injuries.
Defense consistently beating up the offense.

Now. I also understand that It's entirely possible that most defense's at this point of training camp, have the advantage. Especially with a team that Is learning a new offense.

..but I would also like to point out that the league Is obviously more offensive minded, offensive friendly, offensive favored. In general. So, for me, It's just never a good sign when your offense Is struggling this much In today's NFL. I also am concerned that the fact that It Isn't a lot of time to learn a new offense of this caliber, that this will be a hinderance for awhile, If not for a good chunk of this upcoming season.

Then you have so many first times.. First time QB, First time HC, First time OC... A lot of growing pains are going to be there for us, on top of everything else.

Sometimes, as we all know, we can simply put too much on our plates at times. Which can lead to a lot of struggle and hardships.

I don't know how that bodes for a young QB, playing for a team that doesn't have a lot of mentorship In that QB room, on top of everything else I've mentioned.

    It seems like a lot.

You see a lot of positively based things that are new to this and organization. I understand It. I also can see the other side of the coin, and, It concerns me.

    It's early. I understand.

..but we've seen similar things, from past teams, at this point of the year. The result wasn't good.

Maybe this Is different. I personally feel like I've seen this before, but, I hope I'm wrong. It's a wait and see thing.

    So, with all that said..

From your perspective. You say there Is "much more to like than years past". What are those things? ..and how have those things been productively better for us this year, than years past?

That Is a genuine question because I see more of the same, If not worse.

I expect the same especially since this offense is pretty much tailor made for his skill set not to mention the better surrounding talent. If it’s not that good, are we allowed to be just a little tiny bit concerned going into the season?

There's no honest discussion to be had about Wilson at this point in his career. He's struggling right now and we have a thread showing only good quarterbacks that struggled but not the bad ones.

Some of y'all should call balls and strikes and not be so quick to defend it. If he's sucking in camp, he's sucking in camp. Saying so doesn't mean you're calling him a bust, but due to the off-season debates everyone who wanted him is so quick to poo-poo it away.

I personally still don't really care too much about camp performances. It's so insignificant especially with how much training camp has been scaled back in the past twenty years. It's like a damn resort vacation, not a hard training camp and everyone's just trying to not get hurt.

I think so. Usually practices are actually tougher than pre-season. Teams don't through a book at you defensively. Plus, though he had a late start, by the end of preseason he would have practiced for a month with the team. If he sucks during the pre-season, it will probably be a long year for the Jets. But we are not there yet, and hopefully won't be.

There’s definitely a media narrative brewing that Wilson’s in trouble, while Lawrence is “the truth” based on 2 training camp passes.

It makes sense. He’s a rookie Jets quarterback. They tend to fail. He also hasn’t been lights out while facing non stop pressure from a DL that’s obviously well ahead of the OL at this point. Lawson has been getting the better of Becton all camp.

When your body guard is getting schooled it’s going to impact your confidence.

Based on the comments that’s he’s holding the ball too long, either he hasn’t developed a sense for the pocket and can’t feel the pressure yet or he’s saying “fuck it” and giving himself the amount of time he needs/expects to be able to make a throw. Neither is good, but frankly if he’s getting no time to throw on most snaps he’s going to have problems regardless. Any QB would, but he still has to see the playbook in action and the only time he can do it without potentially getting crushed every play is now.

Becton and AVT have the potential to give Wilson a QB’s best friend: a dominant running game. AVT is out which means the OL’s cohesion (featuring 2 new players) will take longer. And Becton won’t be going against Lawson for 17 games this year.

At this point he just needs the game (and FFS hopefully the opposing Edge) to slow down a bit for him, but brace yourselves, Saleh himself said it’ll get uglier before it gets better.
