This is a weird position for this team to be in (especially this season). Everyone expects the Jets to win. In fact, I don't think I've seen/heard one person say that they think there is even a remote chance the Jets will lose. If the Jets do lose, it will be perceived as one of the most devastating losses in team history. While, I am confident about tomorrow, it is the sort of thing that you just want to get it over with. The Jets will not get that much credit if they win, but will be crucified if they lose. I'll be happy when this game is done and the W is official.
We're going to win big and there will be much running of the face paint by snot and tears in Raider Nation.
Just goes to show you the kind of confidance Mangini has instilled in the Jet fan base. Any other year with this kind of talent, and I would have been more worried
It's not just the fan base. Everyone on ESPN, every radio host I've heard, everyone on Sirius NFL Radio...they are all saying the Jets will win. That makes me more nervous than anything else.
I want to get it over with to, but no doubt, JETS will WIN this one. The playoffs are right around the corner. The Jets are shocking the world!
This would be one of the worst losses in franchise history. At home to the worst team in the league. A player like Chad Pennington WILL NOT let this happen. If need be he will put the state of New York on his back and win the game. Chad Pennington WILL NOT let us lose.
We got confidence not cockiness. There is a huge difference. They're confident in the fact that if they give their all, stay disciplined, play their gameplan, they'll be fine. I also think Chad is an underrated leader by most. I've been impressed over the last couple years at what he's shown. I think Curtis Martin also helps a lot even though he's not playing. They along with EM with make sure this team is ready for the raiders.
Man you are right on in everything. I just want to get this over with. I saw a thread earlier playfully talking about super bowl. That is just being ignorant. I just want to see the W tomorrow and move on.
This is a really good game for the Jets to have right now. All the expectations are that they will win it and all they have to do to fulfill those expectations is have an average game. This is a great game to have for a young team that needs to prove they can finish.
The Raiders suck. Half the team has quit. Their playmakers Moss,Jordan,Porter are not Playing. They are on the road against a hot team who needs a win. The Jets will win. As Jets fans, we have to worry though.
The Jets, with a playoff spot on the line, have never lost a season finale to a turd team. You guys have to rid yourself of the bad Jets memories. season finales with playoff spots on the line 1991- beat Miami 1993- lost to an excellent Oilers team 1997- lost to a Lions team that went to the playoffs 2000- lost to eventual Super Bowl champions 2001- beat Raiders 2002- beat Packers 2004- lost in overtime to a Rams team that went to the playoffs (the Jets learned they qualified for the playoffs around the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter)
Nothing is a given in this league. I guess I'm one of the few who will approach this like any other of our games this season, excited but nervous as hell.
:raiders: Thats right ! it seems different thuis time usuely everybody has that sick feeling in thier gut ! like we r in for a let down or something, But not this time baby! Woooooooo! Mangni has got the boys focused and ready to take on the task at hand wich is kill the silver and black! Tha ... the ...tha.. thats all folks!!!!!!!!!!! Go Jets Go!!!!!
