Lamont Jordan was a damn good runner & Mckenzie was good player in his own right. The mistake was failing to retain them like the Pats did w Light. Randy Thomas shouldve been re-upped as well.
No, I don't think thats the case. The Jets at the time were rising NFL team. I think the opportunity to just get drafted higher and a team wanting him more compelled him to let the process play itself out during the draft. He and his cree probably also didn't know how to manage call holds between parties back then on a landline lol..just a guess there
Matt Light and Kareem McKenzie both ended up starting exactly 153 games. McKenzie was RT for the Jets when C-Mart led the league in rushing in 2004. He was RT for the Giants when they beat Matt Light's Patriots in the 2007 Super Bowl. Further, he picked up a second ring with the Giants, and led the way for Tiki Barber to set the Giant's franchise rushing record. My guess is, if the Jets had drafted Light, he would have ended up on another team by 2005 anyway, just like Kareem did.
Light is actually somewhat overrated. Yes he was the LT for alot of great teams & protected Shady’s blindside for much of his career. But he got taken to task by pretty much every good pass rusher from that timeframe. Freeney,Taylor even John Abe & Ellis had big sacks in big moments lined up against him. Thats not including that 2007 super bowl beatdown
Sorry, just no interest in almost drafted/trade stories. Probably because I'm a celtics fan and i hear about 30 almost trades Danny Ainge makes yearly like it's supposed to make me feel better they almost had it.
Yes we did! That's one reason I'd like to see Morgan in the full BU roll this year. Lets see what we got in him!
Didn’t read every post but has anyone asked the question why do you need to even be on the phone with these kids before you are on the clock?
