It is becoming pretty obvious there is not a big market for Sam. There is no reason at all why we cannot keep Sam this season and draft Zach.
Just missed you 89-91. Did you play ball for them? If so I am sure we have crossed paths or know some of the same people.
Losmeister, I know we don't like each other and we don't see eye to eye on ANYTHING, HOWEVER...with that having been said, I do agree with you on this point. Well-said.
True. Worst case scenario, Sam doesn't improve and we have his replacement waiting in the wings. Best case, Sam becomes what we wanted him to be, and now we have a QB controversy that leads to him or the new QB being dealt for a high pick in a couple years.
The thing is that unless the Jets pick up the 5th year option (which they should never do) or are able to sign him to an extension, they won't be able to trade him. He will simply walk in FA, and they probably wouldn't get a thing for him even if he signs a huge contract because of the money they've spent in FA this year. IMO it's better to get even a 4th or 5th for him, than see him walk after this season and get nothing. If the Jets draft a QB, they're not going to trade him, they will be committed to him. I can almost guarantee you that any of Wilson, Fields and Lance would blow Sam away in a side-by-side comparison in terms of talent and potential.
Latest espn.com/newyork article thinks the Jets will keep Darnold and sell the 2 pick which is what I believe will happen.
You talking about the article Cimini wrote? Didn't he say that's what he thinks they should do but that JD seems to really like Wilson?
Not at all! Did you listen to JD's presser? He literally said he will listen to offers. Don't compare some rumor we heard about evaluating all QBs before making a decision with his actual words that he will listen to all calls. The simplest explanation based on facts is often the correct one. And in this case it is not that he is not available, but that he is not worth as much as some thought and the offers if any are underwhelming.
Cimini shows he knows nothing "The prudent move is to keep Darnold and auction the No. 2 overall pick, parlaying that choice into multiple picks -- the best way to improve their talent-starved roster." prudent to stay withthe worst starting QB in the NFL.
we dont like each other? i didnt know that. if i thought you a total ignoramus on football you'd be on ignore. peace.
He spent the entire article talking about how there's been no market for Sam because he's been so bad and then finished it off by saying the prudent move is to keep him. Just total lunacy.
there's no need to be snarky or cunty, Losmeister......I was extending an olive branch to you with my post.
