Just wondering when they begin. Do we have an over under? I'll give it until tomorrow at 10 EST. Somebody will be screaming to send the 36th to Minnesota for Daunte. Just wait and see.
Wilf: Culpepper deal not imminent I'm starting the countdown to Junc's appearance dismissing the idea as insane. Why would anyone want to trade for the most overrated player in the game?
Not a bad point, but we have good knees on our QB's. Maybe we can give Daunte Chad's Knee. 64 million dollar kneecap.
I wouldn't take him. If we are worried about a bionic Chad, why wouldn't we worry about a bionic Daunte? Chad shoulder is suspect, but he has never been an especially hard thrower. Culpepper is a mobile QB with a bum knee. Plus, as bad as Penny's shoulder was injured, Culpepper's knee was turned into spaghetti. I admit, I am also one of those who feel Culpepper is overrated. Give him a Randy Moss, and he is a top-tier QB. Throwing to Coles and Cotch, not to mention JMac? I don't think he would have success. If I were him, I would want a trade to somewhere like Oakland (Moss,) or Washington (Moss.)
hey, we have cap room now! Lets get Owens, Culpepper, Kitna, Witherspoon, Arrington, Bentley, Jamal Lewis, get three first round picks for Abraham, re-sign Mawae, and take Ferguson AND Cutler with our # 4 pick!? Then we can take Deangelo Williams in the second round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Culpepper to the JETS is not going to happen, I know we are speculating and fooling around but lets stop it before someone start going wild with this.. THERE IS NO WAY WE ARE GOING TO HAVE 2 HIGH PRICED QB'S ON OUR TEAM BOTH RECOVERING FROM INJURIES..
Culpepper is overrated and i dont want him for several reasons i wish not to elaborate on because im eating breakfast.
Culpepper got too spoiled throwing to Moss for so long. He looked terrible before he got hurt. It's obvious who was carrying the offense after Moss left the Vikes. His carrer is in limbo. Stay away I say.
I say bring in nobody. Why? Definitely, ensure that a quality QB is drafted this year. That is first and foremost. Now, ask yourself the question, why would we bring in another FA QB? Is it to compete for the playoffs and SB next year. Won't happen. Too, many changes offensively, defensively, coaching, and personnel. I say if Pennington is not ready, than go with Bollinger to open the season. Beat me up if you want, it's OK, but when you look at it objectively, it makes a heck of a lot of sense. By not bringing in another FA QB, you free up the money to do other good, like bringing in a quality offensive or defensive lineman or even a linebacker. Bollinger is more than capable for what our expectations should realistically be next year. Let Chad have his chance eventually when he is ready. If it works out, great, but I still do not give this a high chance of being successful. Meanwhile, let the drafted QB learn the system (he will get some pre-season time) while not throwing him to the wolves. Whether it winds up being Cutler, Young, or even Leinart for that matter. Give them a chance to be fully comfortable. Maybe give the drafted QB some time toward the end of the year provided we are not vying for anything (there is always a chance - be it small). Next year is going to be a transition year and a growth and development year. The cash spent on a FA QB would yield a much higher return if spent on a quality offensive or defensive lineman or linebacker.
