i'd only use the draft. no big money free agents. also keep the same group of guys...they play very well together

I like the Paul Williams idea. Great size/speed/strength combo and might be able to grow into a solid WR. Might even last to even later in the draft.

The only thing is that the top 3 picks might all be long shots to land in those postitions.

They are all pretty much long shots to be at those spots in the draft.

I like that whole scenario except why not keep Barrett on the cheap of they can? And I don't think there's a need at RB in the first round. Maybe later. But I'd rather see the Jets draft a star to stand next to Vilma in Round 1.

I can't conceive of a real reason to cut David Barrett, unless you've got his replacement well in hand. And I mean signed and doing drills at Hofstra well-in-hand.

Well, unless I'm mistaken, Barrett currently does not start, and his base salary is the following:

    2007 3600000.00
    2008 3600000.00
    2009 3710000.00

Unless he will renegotiate and take a big pay cut, you HAVE to cut him. I bet Asante Samuel would cost 6-7 mil at most, and would be an immediate starter opposite Dyson, and give us a really nice young secondary.

Why is everyone so quick to cut Ramsey. Didn't we extend him 1 year (next year's season)? He has shown us nothing good nor bad and we can't have too many QBs with Pennington starting for us. I for one think he is a good veteran backup. If Penny goes down he can step in in the short term and let Clemens take over in the long term.

I think we need a fullback in there somewhere. whether its Brian Leonard in the second, or Cory Anderson (better blocker then leonard but obviously not as versatile) in the sixth. youd be surprised how much our run game would improve.

Any mock draft that has either Woodley or Spencer makes me happy. As good as Hobson has been at ROLB we can neve have enough of LB's. I also think Hobson would be great at ILB

Ramsey flat out stinks. He brings nothing to the table except the ability to be a last resort. If the Jets pick a QB in a late round or post-draft, they can groom him and see if he has the stuff, which we all know Ramsey does not. If the Jets don't get a new QB, then Ramsey's role as last resort still needs to be filled so no harm in keeping him around.
