I'm going to say no just because I don't see him putting up those kind of numbers against a pretty good Raiders D. He could definitly do it but I don't believe he will
The Raiders have the #1 passing defense and the #27 rushing defense in the NFL. The only way the Jets lose this game is if they make mistakes on offense, so the game plan will be conservative, featuring runs and short passes designed to run the clock, neither of which would help Cotchery. To be honest, I think the only way he gets 92 yards receiving is if the Jets fall behind in the game, and that's not something I'm rooting for.
The jets will probably try to win this game without overusing their playmakers that much to reduce injury risk. Of course if they have to use coles to score they will, considering we need to win this game. But look for them to try to save as much ammo as possible so they will have some left for the big battles ahead.
I don't really agree with that. I don't think Mangini and this new coaching regime will take any team too lightly. We have played with a great attitude towards every game so far this year and I can't see a letdown in that attitude for that game. I could see us resting Coles a little because he is hurt but I can't see us letting up with Cotchery at all.
Well he's gonna need to have a huge day. We are playing the Raiders, the worst team in the NFL. That can't hurt. So yeah, he's got a shot.
playing the raiders? i say yes. they have a decent defense, but they are really only good enough to key on one guy. we all know they are gonna key in on coles. that said, cotch should get most of the looks.
Im not sure you all know how good the raiders pass defense is. They have spent something like 5 of their last 6 first round draft picks on defensive backs. And they are easily in the top 5 pass defenses. I voted no
wow you guys are really underestimating the raiders defense, yes they are atrocious as a team but that mainly because they cannot score, the pass defense is exceptional, asoumugah is a pro bowl caliber player and fabian washington is not too shabby either, add top 10 pick michael huff and you have a damn good secondary, better than ours outside of rhodes
Raider are #1 because no one passed on them http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-PASSING/2006/regular?&_1:col_1=3 2nd fewest pass attempts in the NFL. http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-RUSHING/2006/regular?&_1:col_1=3 Everyone has ran on them but still better than the Colts.
highly unlikely. He's not getting 92 yards against Oakland. Maybe he'll reach 1,000 if we count the playoffs.
I kind of hope NOT. If he needs to go over 100, we'll be passing long into the 4th quarter, which I hope is not the case (hope we have it sealed up by then)
