I'd like to answer for Jeaux since I can pretty much guarantee what his response will be, I hope he doesn't mind. In Al's masterplan he obviously took into account that Sean Payton would be a bad fit for the Raiders since the Raiders are not about winning divisions, or making the playoffs or even winning games... they are about winning Championships. And the best way to do that is tank season after season until you build up enough blue chip prospects on the defensive side to rival the '00 Ravens and wait until Petrino's son graduates and lure him into the fold.
After the way Dbrickshaw looked yesterday I wouldn't say hes any sure thing. Also ITs easy for a Offensiveline to look good when your QB throws it 5-8 yards. Wouldn't you say thats fair.
That is simply Chad not holding onto the football too long, something you said yourself has been a problem with Raider QBs this year. You can bash our offense all you want, fact of the matter is we protect the ball well and make plays when we need to. That's alot better than whatever you guys have sent out there this year.
So D'Brick allowing ONE sack to a defensive player of the year candidate is cause for concern, but Gallery getting beat like a drum by every has been, never was is... can you clue me in on that one?
That the problem, when teams play zone. Pennington smart and accurte enough to pick apart a defense. Raiders aren't going to play zone. They are a man to man defense. They have the absolute faith that their Cbs will get the Job done, that they will leave them all alone to cover your wrs. They are going to take away that short passes and forcePennington to beat them deep . Throw those flutter passes against a real secondary and they are going to be turnovers. Watch 2002 playoff gamebecausev you will see a glimpse of whatb they will do.
Yes, that's the ticket. Right. Rod Woodson is retired. Charles Woodson is in Green Bay. Tory James is in Cincinnati.
If playing man to man was the way to take away C Pennington 6'3 225's short passing attack I'm sure many other teams would have done it no?
Oh God this is great. You truly are a one man act Jeaux. This thread is going to be even better after the humiliation your beloved raiders suffer this Sunday. I hope you actually show up this year to take your lumps however. I seem you remember a certain no where to be found stunt you pulled last year. Hope you don't go on any sudden "vacations" this time around.
Jeaux stop ignoring the question, once again I'll pose it, but are you brave enough to answer truthfully? "D'Brick allowing ONE sack to a defensive player of the year candidate is cause for concern, but Gallery getting beat like a drum by every has been, never was is... can you clue me in on that one?" C'mon Jeaux, wheres the cojones? Answer the flippin' question.
Hey Joe....ya' gonna give me that 'link' to the Raiders board? I'll be over to post a "congratulations" thread following the game this weekend.
First off your missing the point like usually. Raiders secondary playing alot better now than that 2002 unit. First off that 2002 unit C Woodson and T James weren't anywhere close to 100%(C woodson couldn't even make any cuts -not good when CB job is to mirror the Wr.) ITs going to be the same gameplan, Play up on the WRs and dare Pennington to beat him deep. Lets see how many times Pennington Challenges N Asomugha_playing as well as any CB in football. Eight interceptions with probably the smallest amount of attempts thrown his way. Raiders LBS are alot faster than the 2002 version-can cover more of the field.(makes even tougher to throw short) Thomas Howard the fastest LB in football.
I'm not sure how to take this long drawn out silence, either Jeaux is hard at working furiously typing out a semi-coherent response or he's at a total loss for words. Or he could be picking his wedgie, ya just never know with him. Edit: Looks like it was of the semi-coherent variety.
Your point was ridiculous, which is typical. You told us to watch the 2002 game to see what Nnamdi Asomugha and Fabian Washington will do on Sunday. The darn guys were in college at the time!
