No kidding. Criticizing Pennington is understandable, but saying that Cleo Lemons outplayed him is just ridiculous. It's absurd that one can bury Chad for the near pick, then turn around and praise Cleo, who also "should've" been picked off after throwing a ball right off a defender's chest.

If it's any consolation, Pennington could have had 2 TD passes.
The reason why Lemon and Pennington each had one-
Cotchery was pulled down by a linebacker on a 3rd down play
Randy McMichael, a tight end, broke the tackle of a smaller safetyman

Lemon threw quite a number of poor passes. He was adequate at best.

I don't really give a shit about your "repuation". In case you haven't noticed we are on a frickin message board talking about a football team. I have the same right to an opinion too and I will make it if I feel like it. You can also choose to ignore me. Just to let you know you are quoting me and arguing back to learn to read and interprit something before commenting. After reading over my comment didn't come out the way I really meant it and I don't feel like I can explain it in writing the way I wanted to so I'm sorry about that and go ahead and bash me, I deserve that. That said, I don't think anyone on here cares about your reputation on a message board. I come here to talk about the Jets and I really don't need to deal with people like you being the way you are when I am just trying to argue a valid point. And by the way you are posting you make it sound like only people with a "reputation" such as yours can make a valid point. I didn't know civility took such a turn for the worse around here.

    That will never happen.
Some of the posters LIVE by what wfan says then come here and post it all over....

IMO though, D'Brick did NOT play well yesterday. He did OK but
Looking at Stats only, especially from 1 player and not his actual play is just as bad as spewing WFAN BS all over the board.

Rewatch the game (Also previous ones) and you'll see that he ended up needing help on his side.
AFA as the stats go, JT Missed some of the game.

Like I said, IMO , He did not play well in the pass or the run...

Great point! If I remember correctly, the Pats won several rings and most games were won ugly. And that didnt stop them from doing it over and over...

Not only will I take these ugly wins, but I hope we continue to win those ugly games. Teams that can win ugly, in the terrible field conditions that often occur during playoff season always have the better chances to go deep.

The Colts and their often early playoff exits.....nuff said!

No Doubt, and Yes, I do believe he is the D-Player of the year but seems as though some just look at a stat and draw a full conclusion on how someone played.
Sorry, but that's not how to fully evaluate a player's performance.

You and I disagree on Pennington but I never figured you as someone to resort to this kind of general attack? Most of the posters on this board engage in honest debate. Since when is the point of coming here to reinforce the rah rah go team go? This is a place we do more than that, we discuss football on levels and root for our team and talk about our team, the good, the bad and the ugly.

I don't have buddies on this board who are negative or positive. There are a lot of posters that I disagree with and occassionally get into with but as long as the debate stays to the topic they are all my "buddies".

Most of the people on this board are life long Jet and football fans for how ever long that is. We are discussing football and our team. Sometimes it gets heated but rarely out of contol. I disagree with your opinion on football quite often but I respect your opinion on football when it's on football and not just a diatrabe on posters you don't agree with. This whole thread you started is an attempt to attack and negate peoples opinion you don't agree with. It's not only weak, it's beneath you.

I'm not bashing you or anything because you have the right to your opinion like everyone else but I do have a quick question. Did you think that there was far too much negativity on this board today after a win like that and a "win and in" game against the AFC bottom feeders Raiders next week?

And I agree with that as well. There are tons of players with mind blowing stats, but to watch them play is a different story. Chad had completions that will go down as long plays, but they were only 3 yard dunks with LOTS of yac.lol....Not knocking penny, but those plays will look great on his stat sheet.

My expectation this year was a 9 or 10 win season. I don't take for granted next weeks game by any stretch although the odds are very good for us going against a Raider team in complete disaray. I'm happy that I might get an opportunity to watch my team for an extra week this year. I'm excited before, during and after every Jet game but I have to be honest, I still see this team as rebuilding and one of the positions that needs to be upgraded for us to continue to move forward toward a SB is the QB. It has always been my opinion that a Healthy Pennington would get us 9 or 10 wins and a shot at the playoffs and it will always be my opinion that is his limit.

I agree that it is great that we might have a chance to watch our team an extra few weeks this year. I do disagree about Pennington but that is for another place. My question was, as someone with a different opinion th an mine about Pennington, do you think there was too much negativity today? If you don't think there was than thats fine, I'll accept that. I just saw a lot of people trying to get attention with threads that didn't seem to make a ton of sense after a good win last night.

It doesn't really matter what I think. The question I have for you is are you going to contribute to the debate on football or are you going to get hung up on BS.

This is a message board where you give opinions and it has turned into a place where I can't even ask someone what their opinion is. I asked you a simple question in a very non attacking way and you attacked me right back. It wasn't a very difficult question and there was no reason for you to be an ass about it. I have contributed to the debate on football if you would actually read the thread. It's unbelievable what some people are turning this place into. I was trying to get the opinion of someone with different views from myself which is what this board is all about. I don't have that many friend who are Jets fans so I like to know how different people react after a game It annoys me that this place has turned into somewhere where people with a "high" reputation don't even have to answer to someone who has a "lower" reputation. Somehow people on this board with these bloated egos and high opinions of themselves think that they are such better fans or that they can just ignore someone who doesn't quite have that "reputation" It is not just with me I see it everywhere on this board. Some new person comes on to start a thread that is actually somewhat intelligent and he gets completely bashed the thread goes off topic. Some people on here need to settle down and enjoy the football element of the board and not worry about if their repution is going to be hurt by answering a simple question or posting in a certain thread. I needed to post this because its been annoying me throughout this thread.. thats my rant

All i wanted this year after I paid for my season tickets was a meaningful game in december --i got a lot more than i could have hoped for...a new years eve game against the hated raiders and we control our playoff destiny! If you can't enjoy this season I feel sorry for you.

Look at how many teams finish strong one year and don't make the playoffs just to be hyped the following year and do nothing .... football is a tough sport where any team can go from losers to winners from sunday to sunday so enjoy the wins and the excitement because next year could be the complete opposite!
