One more win gets us to double digit wins this year. Think about that for a second. Last year we were 4-12. Most people on here had realistic visions of 6-10 to 8-8 being the best we could get to. But instead we are on the verge of going 10-6 (hopefully) and making the playoffs. I just need to step back and really soak it all in! Wow! :jets:
Very good point......and assuming we do actually win this Sunday, which I think we will, just think about this for a second. There were perhaps three games this year where if we played just a little better and had a break go our way, we could be looking at a 13-3 record with a possible first round playoff bye. That is really mega-hard to believe.
Chiefs fan here. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You guys have had an amazing season. After 1 year, you guys got the better of the whole Herm Edwards situation. Herm is building a better defense and a different culture in KC. It remains to be seen what that will translate into. That being said, your new coach has led you guys to a very strong season. You are on the brink of the playoffs and it is an amazing story. I'm certain you'll beat the Raiders. It looks like you'll face the Colts in the playoffs. Tough draw, but great experience for a young team.
How many games (if any) do the chiefs fans feel that Herm cost them this year? Were the fans generally happy with him or are they already getting restless.
It means playing not to win, it means playing the same gameplan regardless of opponent, and it means accepting losing. It's unfortunate, but we were happy to get rid of him, let alone get a 4th.
Yes!!! And we can enjoy Sunday's game without the idiotic comments of Joe Thighbone and Tony Kornhole! Art Shell got his first win against the Jets. And Sunday may be his last game! Let's get some payback for that first one!
I can't really say Herm cost us games this year. When you compare this team to last years team (it appears both will miss the playoffs by 1 game) the defense has improved and the offense has regressed. However, the offense lost Willie Roaf and has had 3 different starters at RT this year due to retirements and injuries. That's probably been the biggest difference. There is some frustration because as someone said the gameplans seem to be the same no matter the opponent. The general feel is that Herm is a better talent evaluator than Vermeil was. This years draft has provided a starter this year (defensive end) and 2 more starters next year (both safeties). Most fans believe this years team is better than last years team as a whole.
Looks like the trade worked out well for you. I've been very careful not to declare it an absolute victory for the Jets. Still too early to call, but after 1 season, the Jets are certainly leading.
AlphaMan. I am sorry that you must deal with the Clueless Mr. Ed for at least another season. I used to enjoy watching the Chiefs play and their offense was pretty scary. Now the Clueless Mr. Ed has brought mediocre "balance" to offense and defense it seems. On the bright side, LJ is truly Superman.
Another thing to think about - not really wanting to get too ahead of ourselves - but think about what this team can accomplish next year with a another draft and a couple key free agent additions  The future is what really excites me about the Jets
Not really, the Browns game was too early in the season to be assured of a win and the Bills game we all knew would be difficult because it was a divisional game
