I am just sick..sick..sick..sick Just when you think Williams can make the Jets D respectable this happens . He cant be even interim coach material smh Now we have to wait for the Lopsided 12-45 loss for Gase to get fired???? But Contrails is right I want a window opened ,,the Jets just stink it up weekly without fail
I think everyone who thinks the NYJs are managed well & have quality personal should IMHO go for a IQ test to C how much brain power U actually have
GM, Coach, QB should be on the same sequence like every other team in the nfl, start over next year or at least give Douglas his own choice at Coach and QB
I'd be kind of surprised if Williams doesn't get investigated last night. What was it - 7 personal fouls on the defense including mostly roughing the passers? Whether it's public or not. I mean he is the bounty gate guy.
This is actually an interesting idea. He'd probably be smart enough not to just run himself up the middle too often.
Did you see gore on the sideline, looked like how did I sign with this horrible mismanaged team! Like he never experience such miserable feeling of demoralization. His face said a thousand words. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
this is exactly right. Guy should have taken a knee, or run the ball. DOn't drop back. Punk moves on both sides not an excuse but i'm sure the team was pissed because some of the Jets flagrants were borderline -- e.g., Q. Williams's first. Yet when the Broncos whipped Darnold to the ground no call. Guys were hot
In Gregg Williams defense he has the worst defensive roster in the NFL, Douglas gets alot of blame here
Not feeling this at all. A lot of this stuff was a hair late hits and sloppy football. I didn't see head hunting or anything vicious On the flip side the Bronco's LB had Darnold wrapped up and still whipped him to the ground and refs ate their whistle. Last year M. garret did it to what's-his-name our backup and almost killed him. That said, the Jets FO needs to do some investigating, soul-searching whether Williams is the guy they want
It's not a punk move by the Broncos. They're throwing the ball far in the air down field to burn more clock. The Jets tee'd off on Rypien twice in that scenario. That's an unwritten no no and whether McLendon thought he was being dirty or a hero doesn't matter. They were dirty plays. He went helmet to helmet on the QB with 6 seconds left on the clock in a two score game. The defense is so poorly coached this year I wouldn't be surprised if they thought we were only down a touchdown.
Some were ticky tacky, some we're not. Regardless - 7 got called and we had two players launch themselves at the opposing quarterback with under 15 seconds left in a two score game. I'm not wishing investigation on him because I don't think the bounty program is back, but this team has been flagged for roughing the passers at an alarming rate. Wouldn't be surprised if the NFL looks into it. They don't need to do any soul searching - Williams is not the guy. Maybe he's the interim guy if Gase gets fired but he needs to be shown the door as well. He, along with Gase did a good job last year. The difference is that Williams faced a bunch of bottom of the barrel offenses last year engineered by Haskins and Duck Hodges and everyone was holding him up as the savior.
end of the game was whack. i had no idea what was going on. Broncos were punk, but that doesn't mean we should have been doing that crap. The extra odd thing is Fangio said he took a b-line after the game to avoid a melee (which i don't believe) but my sense at the end of the game is the two teams were actually talking to each other and saying what's up with that -- e.g., the Broncos seemed to be almost apologizing for dropping back. My guess is that Fangio and Williams have some real bad blood between them, and Fangio actually wanted to hang another score on Williams and Williams was sinking to that level. I suspect both Gase and Williams are fired at the end of the season barring a miracle. I know nothing about coaching prospects but wouldn't be surprised to see someone from Ravens or Eagles. JD strikes me as that type
Fangio was probably pissed because only a moron on the opposing sideline would think he was trying to run up the score rather than burn the clock.
I don't agree. You kneel or run the ball in that situation. I don't think there's any fair debate on that. Why throw the ball and risk a pick-6? They had the game in hand you control the ball. Williams was petty and an idiot because he was risking Rypien's health. If Fangio is being an asshole you tell him that to his face at midfield or in the press conference. Makes no sense to attack Rypien who is a rookie and was simply doing what his idiot coach was telling him to do -- and make no mistake that was straight from Fangio After the game when Fangio b-lined it, a fair number of Broncos stayed around on the field and there seemed to be no animosity. Same too in large part between plays near the end and i actually saw some of the guys talking in a way that looked more like "what the fuck was that all about" than "you try that again and I'll take out your knee". So I'm in the camp that Fangio is to blame for starting it; and Williams is to blame for his reaction.
Because he hucked the ball 20 yards out of bounds. It was 4th down. What difference doesn't a deep pick down the sidelines make? Even if you somehow give up a pick 6 the game ends because the clock runs out. But they weren't throwing it in bounds. I'm not being sarcastic at all - you've never seen this? I've seen several teams do this on 4th down with limited time left. Usually more of a college thing because they're scared of their punt teams. I thought it was relatively clear what he was doing - maybe not. Agreed on your third paragraph. The players didn't look like they just played a bad blood game.
