I picked 49ers to win last week 30-13 and I wasn’t far off. Jets go on the road to Indy, still have no rhythm and no crowder or bell. Jets find their mojo but not enough. Jets lose 28-17
I hate late kick offs. Be gone midnight before it ends. I also hate that Gase is still Head Coach. I also, also hate that Gase was ever appointed. Two wasted years and we're only at the start of the second. I'm not getting any younger here. The 8 yo me has a lot to answer for.
Next 4 weeks sees us play some inconsistent teams, we’ll have to be pretty awful not to come away with at least 1 win. If we go 0-4 then we’ll be a lock for pick #1. It wouldn’t surprise me if we somehow beat the Colts in a shitfest. But I’m expecting a narrow loss.
Denver coming to NJ, on a short week, with a backup QB might be our best chance. Of course, knowing the Jets, we'll make Jeff Freakin' Driskel look like Dan Marino.
If we somehow win this game, you just know someone's going to start a thread about our odds of making the playoffs.
Broncos back up QB gave Chiefs hell yesterday. Chiefs pulled off a narrow win. I watched because I had big money on Chiefs winning the game. Might I say he looked much better than any game Darnold looked since he came to the league.
My question is did anybody see the Broncos backup play against the Steelers? I was wondering how he looked. Herbert looked pretty damn good for a rookie who was told he was starting 5 minutes before the game. He may be a keeper.
News Flash... We're not beating the Raiders when they come to town either.. And their new Stadium makes Metlife look like a subway stop.
I don't think we'll go winless this season, but there is a strong argument to be msde that we could. Look at our schedule, i glanced at it and thought we could beat miami once.
The tough reality that has been discussed a lot on this board and is worth mentioning again, is that we are back on a 3 year minimum plan of being competitive. We are heading toward another coaching change, new systems, and most likely a new QB. It's logical to preach more patience because its only 2 weeks in and good franchises don't fire coaches after a handful of games into a season, but right now the main objective for the rest of this year is doing ANYTHING you can to see if Sam has a chance to be around for the future or if you truly need to draft Lawrence or another QB next draft. The ONLY way to do that is fire Gase after week 4 (if they are 0-4 like they look to be heading to), trade for a WR (not going nuts and trading #1 picks but making a trade), let Cooter take over and go down swinging. Give Sam 12 games with a new WR and hopefully Mims, Perriman, Crowder and Bell back and let him loose. This to me is the only responsible thing to do as an organization. We could get lucky and Sam looks like a long term answer and trade back early in the draft for a more QB needy team and get more assets to help Sam in Year 4 and hopefully be competitive in year 5.
