Good article. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9882866 (Dec. 20, 2006) -- So, Terrell Owens spits in someone's face. Is anybody really surprised? Why is it that I have the feeling that it's only going to get worse in Dallas? Owens in no way can be considered stable. His actions are screaming out for help. I just hope owner Jerry Jones doesn't have his head buried in the sand thinking that this is the end and that it can't get any worse. Just look at the timeline of events that have taken place since Owens became a Cowboy, plus all that went on before in both Philadelphia and San Francisco. If these are not symptoms of a man in distress, then I don't know what is. I can't even criticize Owens' bizarre behavior anymore because it is so sad. He obviously is struggling with something and someone needs to figure it out. He is a danger to himself and everyone around him, maybe with the exception of Michael Irvin. Jerry Jones must do something to help this guy before he does something that truly is catastrophic. Terrell Owens might be wearing out his welcome in Dallas, as he did in San Francisco and Philly. Terrell Owens might be wearing out his welcome in Dallas, as he did in San Francisco and Philly. The good news is, now the Philadelphia Eagles are back in the hunt for the NFC East division title and their next trip takes them right into the heart of the beast, Dallas and T.O. Could this be the week that Owens completely snaps? And how about the irony that Owens' first victim at quarterback is the Eagles' current starting quarterback, Jeff Garcia? Talk about full circle. Much to my surprise, Garcia has led his team to the brink of the unthinkable: an NFC East division title without Donovan McNabb. Garcia has shown the veteran experience and grit required to lead the Eagles. In a Monday night game against the Carolina Panthers, Garcia overcame Philadelphia boo birds to lead his team to a fabulous second half and ultimately a victory against the Panthers. Philadelphia fans were calling for the great A.J. Feeley to replace Garcia, but it was Garcia's perseverance and grit that allowed him to play through the criticism and lead his team to victory. I have to tell you, not only am I surprised, but I'm also happy for him. This is a guy who was tormented by Owens while in San Francisco. He elected to play for the Lions and the Browns, decisions I'm sure he regrets. And now he finds himself on the verge of a tremendous achievement. I was, as most, definitely a non-believer when it came to Garcia's prospects for an Eagles turnaround. But I have been converted to a fan for this underdog quarterback. I hope that somehow Garcia can have the last laugh as he faces his ultimate demon, T.O.
Here's some more that just came out. Jesus Christ Deion. Who the hell do you think you are? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2703865 FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- After Terrell Owens spit in DeAngelo Hall's face during Saturday night's game, Hall insisted he'd have nothing to do with the Dallas receiver. Owens, who was fined $35,000 by the NFL, kept trying to contact Hall, the Falcons' star cornerback. Former Atlanta and Dallas player Deion Sanders finally convinced Hall to take a three-way telephone call on Monday. Hall said Wednesday that the feud is over. "We had a pretty good conversation," Hall said. "As far as I'm concerned, it's over. We got it all out, cleared it all out. It's over." Owens wasn't ejected because officials didn't see the incident. He avoided a suspension from the league but may face further punishment from Cowboys coach Bill Parcells. Hall said Sanders, who was at the Georgia Dome as part of the NFL Network broadcasting team, was "pretty persuasive." "I told Deion I don't even think my mom could have gotten me on the phone with that guy," Hall said. He said Owens "had been calling the past couple of days, and I didn't want anything to do with the guy." "As far as I'm concerned, it's over. We got it all out, cleared it all out. It's over." --DeAngelo Hall "I just listened to everything the guy had to say and then I said what I had to say," he said. "I told [Owens] I don't plan on retiring anytime soon and he doesn't, so we'll definitely meet again --hopefully in the playoffs." After the game, Owens told the NFL Network he apologized for becoming frustrated during the game. Later, he said the spitting was just an accident. "When it happened, we were jawing in each other's face, so it wasn't anything intentional," Owens said. "I didn't intentionally spit in his face. He's trying to make it seem like more than what it was by saying I hauled off and spit in his face." Owens beat Hall for a 7-yard touchdown late in the first quarter and a 51-yard score midway through the second in the Cowboys' 38-28 win. The Falcons (7-7) play host to Carolina on Sunday as they try to preserve their wild-card hopes. Hall earned his second straight NFC Pro Bowl berth on Tuesday. Though he was beaten by Owens for the two big plays in the game, Hall said he was proud he didn't allow the incident to cause him to retaliate and possibly then face a fine or suspension. "For me to be able to keep my cool for the sake of my team and my teammates speaks volumes," Hall said.
Deion's always looking to be in the spotlight, no matter what he's doing, whether on NFL Network, those annoying Internet NFL Cribs commercials or what....I wouldn't be surprised if he ran for office someday.
Well first he has to be the coach of the Atlanta Falcons. i wonder if he's about to throw his name out there with all the heat Mora has been getting. Hah.
I thought Deion was friends with T.O.? I don't see anything wrong with him trying to help one of his friends out.
