You guys have to be on crack not to want portis. He is NOT injury prone. Had a bad year this year, so what? Is Alexander injury prone too now? Curtis Martin played even less than Portis, is he injury prone too now? WAAAAY to soon to call him injury prone. The guy is till young. Really fast, good reciever out of the backfield, and behind this young improving like will improve the Jets ten fold.
Portis is a power back? Interesting. I would not be alright with giving them a 1 for this guy. 2 maybe, but why would washington consider giving a such a talented rb away at such a low value. Won't happen, at least for the jets.
He was hurt last year too. It wasn't just this year. I'm not a huge fan of Portis. Certainly better than what we have now, but for the coin he'll want, I'll go elsewhere. I'm still convinced that while our backs are not awesome, our line runblocking, with 2 small guards, is the problem with the running game.
I'm a huge fan of Portis and would approve of any deal that even resembles value that saw us acquire him.
Excuse me? We need a running back like a mofo... If we had an RB with talent like Portis, not saying I want him now.. But if we did, we would have at least 2 more wins and would not be concerned about these next 2 shi*&y g games..
I say trade our second and another 2nd or 3rd for him.Leon, barlow and houston are not the answer and none of them could hold up to be a feature main back.Even by commitee i wouldnt like cause teams that do run runningback by commitee like the bears, panthers, pats, cowboys run that way because they have really good backs and have atleast one runningback who could carry the load by themselves. He is only 25 and has had one season where he's been hurt if we pick up him with the low second round pick and another pick in 08.
