I thought you knew all about "Facts" Apparently not. Since the merger in 1966, the Jets have had 12 playoff wins. The Lions 1. A fact answered your question. The Jets are not as inept as the Lions. Angryface!
I guess ineptness is in the mind of the fan in my case 50 some odd years of no winning a SB = inepiness
The Jets have had teams over the last 30 years that were capable to winning a Superbowl. The fact that they didn't, however did not make them inept that year. Coming full circle to my point of originally bringing up Detroit (and you calling me out on it) was we've at least had many more years where we weren't as "inept" as the Lions. Just trying to find a positive. "Hey.....I might be an asshole......but at least I'm not a fucking asshole!"
Yes but they DIDNOT & That is a FACT which make as as inept as the Lions or Vikes or Chargers or any other non SB winning team
If they do I will cherish that moment, those two weeks like I don't even know. I can't even fathom what it would be like to see the Jets in the Super Bowl. Two weeks of euphoria and disbelief.
It would be crazy. You would be able to paint NYC green and white and the celebrations would last all offseason. I have seen the Yankees win numerous World Series. Same goes for the Isles and the Cup. I hope I get to see the Jets win one (at least) Super Bowl in my lifetime.
Nope at least that did not occur after winning SB3 I think U R forgetting there is another FB team in NYC who has many, many, many more fans then the NYJs have
It's 51 years and counting. The Jets win it all and it would be insane. Think of when the Rangers ended the curse in 94 only on a much larger scale as football is way more popular than hockey. Even though the Giants are more popular the Jets still have a very large fanbase. It may not seem that way looking at the crowds at MetLife. PSL fees priced many fans out but the Jets are very popular. Look back at the Rex years when we had back to back AFC championship appearances. Everything sports related was Jets "this" Jets "that". The entire NYC metro area turned green and white.
I've still got a few decades in me (maybe) so it's not improbable that we could build a 2-3 years worth of a playoff calibre team in that period, get some lucky bounces and end up in the big game where anything could happen. I don't see in happening anytime soon as my feeling is that Darnold is in the Carson Palmer/Andy Dalton mould where he's good enough to be a starter and make some plays but not enough to elevate a team that doesn't have dominant, HOF'er, star power weapon(s). So we'll have a near decade of the odd wildcard or even Divisional appearance - Just enough to give us hope.
U R missing the FACT that in 1969 that is NOT the way U posted That is the fact jack No excuses it DID NOT happen the way u visualized Yes the parade was great & that was that Celebration over
Actually to me the warmest feeling came on opening day 1969 when they raised the championship flag & when I went to each home game there it was
I think Sam will long outlast Gase. He's no Mahomes, he'll never hit the heights of Brees, Brady or Rodgers BUT he actually looks and plays like a pretty decent QB and the last time we had a QB who we could even begin to describe as passing the eye test was (as limited as he was) Sanchez. I'd rather Palmeresque solidity then return to the Geno-Petty-Hack-Fitz years.
Yes SD should outlast Gase. Hopefully SD will still B competant after gase is gone. After JWN we have not yet had a QB that passes my eye test
Given the fatalistic attitude people have in regards to the virus situation I'm just hoping there's gonna BE sports and football again...I can't really say Im optimistic about that... we live in such a pussy society now and even before la batt flu a lot of people hated football said it's too dangerous. Now?? Fuckin forget it the media will never stop crying they detest competition of any kind and especially football. I mean Jesus Christ the sports media spends most of their time now whining about how sports shouldn't happen and it's their meal ticket how fucked in the head are these people. What is their agenda? I think I know but it would mean these people are sicker than I ever even imagined
In 2020, "journalist" is just a euphemism for liberal activist. You ask the students in a journalism class why they want to get into journalism and 99% of them will say, "Because I want to change the world." You'd be lucky if you get one kid that answers, "to inform the public," or "to report the news accurately." And just like in the political/news media, every person in sports media is an activist first. If that means they are harming their own profession and job prospects? *shrugs shoulders* Such is the burden of being an ideologue.
yep I went to school for journalism luckily I saw it for what it was and realized I wanted no part of it
Jake there should be an * next to this. *Young Jets fan these words of wisdom are for you. Please take them and put them in your tool box you will need them.
