Good punters are absolutely necessary - even Al Davis saw the importance of punters half a century ago, to the point where he drafted this tall kid named Ray Guy in 1st round.

 

Can you imagine what it would be like on here if that happened nowadays

 

We had the audacity to draft a fullback in 1st round that amounted to precisely nothing, so I wouldn't be too surprised.

 

I don't think you could ask for more value of a 6th rounder. If you are picking someone (not punter/kicker), you generally aren't picking them expecting them to start any time soon, if ever. A ST or a depth player at best. Have we had many decent picks in that round?

Blessuan Austin (2019) - Actually played 35% of defensive snaps last year. Not sure if it was merit or we just needed a body. Didn't get to watch as many games as I wanted to.

Enunwa - A rarity.

After that is Slauson, which at least he saw a bit of playing time.

 

It took some balls for JD to go punter, so I say “Why. The F*ck. Not?”

 

Hmm..why would we need a Punter if Gase and Sam are moving the chains on 3rd down..?

That said we definitely need this guy

 

Those “ooosss” & “ahhs” from that video are some of the top Kicking/punting prospects in HS/Juco.Kohls Kicking is big time.

Real excited about this punter.Whens the last time we won the field position battle?Hopefully that changes

It doesn't matter. It's the Jets. We'll get some scrub to cancel it all out. On a serious note, I can't remember the name of the punter for Miami, that guy was killing it. If we see something similar from Mann now wouldn't that be a treat.

I feel like I'm watching the same movie almost every year that whenever our punter (insert any random name HERE) punts I'm already groaning the second the ball is in the air. "Great field position! For the other team!" That could use a little champ on this gorgeous sunny day.

 

i was feeling like Venom was getting the best of me...cause although I have good intent my thoughts were bad. I agree, the thought of an offense needing a punter so bad that we used a pick for him is making me queezy. Lol.

 

I’d like to see shorter, controlled, directional kicks from him. Does anyone have clips?
