Welcome! I live down the road from you in Winston-Salem. I believe there's another Jets fan on this site that lives in Cary.
Cool man !! Went to a Jets bar at an Italian restaurant called Amedios for a Pats game win a few years ago but they moved the fan club. That was Jimmy Valvanos old stomping grounds. Had a blast it was a group of at least 50 but they moved the fan club to a Fayettville restaurant.
"The British are coming, the British are coming!" Well, Paul Revere didn't actually say that, it was more like the Redcoats are coming; and it wasn't just him, it was a bunch of other couriers working in tandem of sorts. Revere crossed the Charles River alone, went total badass, and came this close to getting his head blown off. If he had a slow as shit horse he would never have made it in the end and almost got caught and killed more than once. Good thing he borrowed that horse from Deacon John Larkin or things may not have turned out the way they did. Funny how the U.S. owes tremendous debt to a horse. Oh, and a commando with a lantern. So anyway, good to see the second invasion of The Beatles and a cumulative welcome to all. Also welcome to @BrianBleedsGreen59 from Lawn Gisland and anyone else I may have missed. GO JETS!!! During a pandemic! You can't make it up. EDIT: Deacon, not Dean. Sons a bitchin' autocorrect. I wouldn't want to be accused of revisionist history. Heh.
Hello all. New person here Name is Eddie. From Long Island NY but currently reside in Paxtonia, PA. Season tickets have been in my family since 1967 and this year will be the first time in a long time I will not be going to a game. First reason because of the pandemic and second is because I’ve recently become a father and want to spend more time with him. So now I will get every Sunday to watch the games with him and my son even has a matching jets jersey! Look forward to speaking with you all soon
Welcome to the board Eddie. Looking forward to your posts my friend. And enjoy the games with your son.
Well hello everyone....new to this board but I’ve been watching the Jets since 1979....just in time to watch the Sack Exchange, Freeman McNeil, Wesley Walker, and all those guys....originally from Brooklyn then on to Staten Island but I’ve been in LA since 1986....still can’t get the green out of my blood....
Welcome to the madhouse! LOL Seriously, this is a great Jets fan site, and I'm glad that you've joined us. I've liked a number of your posts already, and look forward to seeing more of them. Where in Brooklyn? I lived in Park Slope for 8 of my 16 years in NYC.
Welcome, Eddie! Congratulations on your son! Unless things change fairly quickly with Douglas as GM, do your son a big favor and don't make him a Jets fan!!!! LOL
thanks! Glad to be here! first in Canarsie then closer To Coney Island before the move Out to Staten Island. Fun times! did a couple of years at Brooklyn College then moved out to sunny California been here since 1986 but still can’t drop these Jets...sad really!
Welcome to the board. I currently live in Staten Island (St. George, 5 years), moved here from Brooklyn (Kensington, 30 years.) I have the same problem with the LA Dodgers. I was a Brooklyn Dodger fan as a kid and can't get that Dodger blue out of me. It's funny how team loyalties become so ingrained you can't get rid of it, even when detrimental to your well being like the Jets.
Hey gang! born and raised in Manhattan. Got into the Jets in the Sack Exchange era because of my dad’s love of the team. Favorite player of all time is Freeman McNeil. Also loved Marvin “Shade Tree” Jones and, of course, Klecko/Gastineau/Lyons/Salaam. otherwise I’m a big Mets fan. Basically my life sucks! hoping 2021 is a watershed year between a Jets housecleaning and Wilpon exodus! glad to be here!
How long have you been in Durham? I understand that there used to be a Jets fan club in the Raleigh-Durham area that used to meet together at a bar and watch games, but I think they changed restaurants/bars a year or so ago and meet now in Fayetteville somewhere. There is supposedly a pretty large number of Jets fans in Charlotte as well. The more the merrier!
Thanks for the warm welcome! Really glad to be here! Great site and people. Looking forward to getting to know my fellow sufferers!
