I know a bunch of you guys loathe him, but I find him pretty entertaining, with some good insight...

but anyway... from today's MMQB column:

    c. Just wondering: Is John Abraham made of papier mache?

    f. The more I see of Cedric Houston, the more I think he's one of the top 30 backs in football. He's the best back the Jets employ.

    g. Congratulations, Chad Pennington: 29 of 39 for 339 yards versus the Vikes. That was one heck of a job against a good front seven in the Metrodome.

I'm ok with him as long as he's not gushing all over the Patriots like they're the best sports team ever

Its not like he is the only guy in the media that does that.

Saying Cedric Houston is one of the Top 30 backs in the league is really saying that is he the bottom of all the starters.

That's also like pointing out that Cedric Houston is a running back in the league...talk about your broad generalizations

I like his comment about Houston being one of the best 30 backs in the NFL.

Not necessarily. Some teams hog up the RB spots, like the Chargers and the Giants.

Seems like f and g are really him taking shots at the Jets without being blunt. Top 30 ... others have already commented

That was one heck of a job against a good front seven in the Metrodome ... no word about the secondary (one of the worst in the NFL), he just mentions the front 7. Then he throws in that the game was played in a dome...

well he was gushing over the Pats again... naming some scrub backup DT as defensive player of the week, tied with Hobbs (whose defensive player of the week stats including a special teams return he had... then again, as long as you are a Patriot he will bend the rules for you)

I didn't see it like that. He was giving Houston a complement by saying he was starting caliber, which I'm sure many would agree is not the case.

He's a New England guy, and freely admits his bias.

I have less problems with someone who acknowledges favorites and unfavorites than someone who pretends he plays it right down the line.
