Quinnen Williams being declared a bust already is nonsensical

Didn’t Plaxico Burress go thru this? What happened in his case?

Unfortunately Q isn't as good at hiding his gun as he is at hiding his production.

Does that still apply at an airport?

It's a felony regardless. He might get a probation. But if the firearm was loaded, he's most likely going to prison. It's a minimum of 3.5 years.

Also, they are saying it was a Glock 19. So, he also was in possession of at least one 15-round magazine, which is considered high-capacity in New York (NYS limit is 10). Here's an additional charge probably.

Seriously? This is somehow on MacCagnan? Was the gun a signing gift?

The stories I've seen so far say that he will be prosecuted by the Queens DA for having an unregistered firearm but I have not seen anything regarding a specific charge and still nothing definitive about whether or not the gun was loaded.

Federal charges could also be pending which, if the gun was loaded, could result in a fine of as much as $10,000 (or even $25,000 - the difference is not clear) and up to ten years in the can. I do not believe the concept of double jeopardy would preclude him from facing both city or state and federal charges as the local ones would be about possession without a permit and the federal one would be about attempting to bring it on the plane.

Does him going to jail count against the cap? Just asking for a friend.

New York City does everything in there power to throw the book at people caught with guns. How stupid can you be trying to board an airplane with it?

For gun owners, do you ever mistakenly leave your house with your firearm?

If you were to transport your gun across state lines or ten states away (where you're getting on an airplane), what's the legal protocol for doing so?

Under the circumstances so far, he will in all likelihood avoid jail but will plead to a felony and get probation.
Not sure what the league will do once he pleads guilty

    What a dope

Unbelievable really. How dumb you have to be to bring a gun to airport?? And why even have a gun in the first place, hire some security guys if you feel that you need it, stay away yourself.

Hopefully this amounts to nothing too serious, fines and probation, and hard lesson learned.

If I’m not mistaken, you get charged based on the state you’re in. If you’re transporting a firearm across state lines you have to follow the laws of the state you’re in.

I’d imagine for basic transport as long as it’s unloaded and in a gun safe (like a mini portable one idk, I don’t own a gun), then you’re fine regardless?
