Not sure how this isn't a thread yet, but I'll take on the challenge:
    *From NFL.com*

Winston Hill, OT, 1963-1976 New York Jets/1977 Los Angeles Rams

Protecting Joe Namath's backside autumn after autumn, Winston Hill was a four-time AFL All-Star and four-time Pro Bowl pick. The left tackle also earned three All-Pro nods during a decorated 15-season career that at one point boasted a string of 174 starts. The Texas native was a crucial cog in the Jets winning Super Bowl III.

Congrats to the Hill family. One of my all-time favorite Jets.

  2. Amazing news!

Might be the best player in Jets History & loved wearing the green n white. Long overdue.

    Klecko next.

I thought he was already in the Hall of Fame! Not sure why I had that in my mind. Maybe Jets Ring of Honor? Congrats to him. Obviously well deserved.

I am absolutely stunned that he made it. Not because he doesn't deserve it - I've been saying he deserves it on this board for almost 15 years - but that it finally happened more than 40 years after he retired. Massive congratulations to his family, but what a shame that he didn't live to see it.

The other guy from those teams who is an overlooked slam dunk Hall of Famer is Larry Grantham. He made the All-AFL first or second team every one of the ten years of the league's existence. Perhaps Hill getting in will improve Grantham's chances. Gerry Philbin is also worthy, but I can't see that ever happening. And of course Klecko should be in.

I'm glad WH got in.....wasn't aware he passed....

This should be good news for Klecko also, no? Hill had been away from the game for over 40 years and just got it....

I also was not aware Hill went on to play for the Rams ?? Went the Namath route same year....

    That's just insane.

These pics really bring home just how atrocious the current Jets uniforms are.

Congrats to the big guy. Winston was Joe’s bodyguard for sure.

The truth is the Jets should have kept the exact same design - just change to the current color. It was the drabber green which brought the uniform down - not the design imo. It was always a classic look.
