I had played semi-pro and let me tell you something, football is football! The difference being the actual talent level of the players playing. Joe Blow and I running the toss sweep is the same as Leon doing the same for the Jets! However, the difference is, Leon has far more ability in getting the job done against players who are just as talented. Most times, it's better for someone who has not played before to extend their thoughts. After all, most players these days can't articulate their thoughts coherently anyway.
um, im only a sophmore.. i bet im twice as fast as you. and its only college. not like usc but more like ithaca...
San Jose State? Hope you guys beat the crap out those Lobos.... My story probably isn't too different than a lot of guys. I was a runner, I had tremendous speed and actually never played until my sophmore year when I was recruited by a gym teacher (also WR coach) to play football. I made the team and won a State Championship. My junior year we were ranked in the top 10 of the USA Today High School Poll before we lost in the state playoffs. What is amazing is our backup RB is now a FB with the Phins but he won a SB with the Bucs. I played at a D1-AA team that was ranked in the top 25 on a consistent basis but never made the titl game. I walked on and was a member of the scout team. I did get to dress and travel and actually got to return a punt in a blowout victory. I got injured playing specieal teams late in my freshman season but still enjoyed the experience. I graduated from UNLV but that is not where I played.
Town league and a little HS. Biggest kid on the smallest team syndrome so more often than not I found myself at the tackle position.
But they both played....I feel like it's not essential to understanding the game, but a lot of criticism of players and their actions during the game comes from people who never played.... Those who have usually have a better understanding of things in that regard...
I played DT in high school at 220 lbs. I was ok but wasnt that motivated to go to the next level. I play pickup games every now and then and also play in a flag league some times.
Hey it's Jeff Garcia... no wait, I know the starter is from San Mateo, same town as Tom Brady just don't be him and we're cool.\ BTW just checked the roster and all the QB's are from California how'd you become a Jets fan?
my old man was in the military...thats how i ended up being a Californian..family is from New York area, just born and raised that way....not ashamed to be a New York fan one bit...only thing that sucks is i have no support from pretty much anyone around here
You've got support from me! East Bay here baby...I'll have to come down and check you out one of these days and see how you are playing...next year perhaps...oh, and win the bowl game please! Peace! The Mezz....
