Hopefully, the Jets will not waste too many plays trying to run inside. Once they get the Vikings backers following our RBs wide, it might work to have Brad Smith take a pitch and sling one deep.

Brad Smith is a good fit for a lot of the "special" plays that can be run. A way of expressing a way to do things. Kind of, "with Smith we could....." So, I think it's great. But, I would hesitate throwing him in as quarterback without it being more than a "special play". A quarterback learns how to play that game by every down. To put anyone in in that position expecting success for one play is really optimistic. But, trying him out for a couple of series would be very interesting. If we lose against the Vikings (Hope not), seeing Brad run the offense in one of the next games could be kinda cool.

Has Smith made any pass plays this year? I've seen him run several times, but don't remember him passing (except in preseason). But I have missed a few games while working.

College ... He was decent. Seemed to need more and better WR's. If he does pro-QB he'd most likely do something like Vick. Would probably roll-out better then the rest of the Jets QB's. Would create a run threat at QB. It would definitely be a different game.

We've been using Brad Smith on a lot of runs this year. If we can establish somewhat of an outside running game, it would be perfect for Smith to launch one deep. Teams would usually anticipate a run when the ball is in Brad's hands so a halfback option pass wouldn't be a bad idea.

Then again, the Jets do seem to have trouble with those in important games...
