    Per Schefter - Jets trade L. Williams to Giants for a 3rd round pick in 2020 and a 5th in 2021

    We’d only get a 3 if he walked, no one else was giving up anything higher. Might as well get a 5th on top of it.

    This was good return for a player who has not lived up to where he was drafted. Plus L. Williams is a free agent, but I would imagine that the L. Williams will likely be re-signed because you don't give up that much draft capital for a player unless you're going to re-sign him

    We will surely sign players in free agency so not sure we would get back a 3 for letting him walk.

    I can't understand why the Giants would do this. He's underperformed and now they are going to have 8 games to figure out if he's worth paying a high amount of money to? And you're giving up picks? Dumb trade by them, but I'm fine with it.

    Because they think Leo's a good player, the Jets fucked him over, and they're getting a steal. We'll find out whether they're right.

    Had to be done and we got decent value.

    Outside of the Cowboys game, this is the second good thing we have accomplished this season.

    More details : The 2021 5th round pick that the Giants are trading to the Jets for Leonard Williams becomes a 4th round pick if he signs a contract extension before the start of the league year.Jets are paying 4 million of Williams' 6 million salary this season
