This was not a playoff game nor a win and you’re in scenario so please do keep that in mind. Losing those types of games isn’t comparable to just a typical regular season game like this one. Having said all of that to say this, I think that this prime time affair has a legitimate place in the top 3 of embarrassing regular season games of all time for the Jets. Feel free to tell me this thread sucks. I am numb so it won’t phase me...fuck you if you go there. Screw this team bro my God. #1- Butt Fumble Game #2- Fake Spike game (Maybe?) #3- I’m Seeing Ghosts Game #4- Matt Barkley Game #5- Not sure yet. Gotta think on it some more.
We've had worse, against New England, in recent history But this was awful. They were ill prepared, played dumb, and quit
The Bowles game on Monday night a couple seasons ago where Gruden was just laughing at us is up there. But this one was worse.
The two playoff losses during the Rex years are worse--the blowouts are embarrassing but the emotional pain of being so close and being let down in the end is worse.
NO. Jet nation needs to put a stop to that. This ownership feeds off even the smallest slivers of false hope. There are no positives. This team is a pure dumpster fire.Top to bottom
We do it all the time. Get all emo saying this is a must win then fall flat on our faces. The season is officially over tonight. Expect lack of enthusiasm and effort going forward.
Any reason why we’re especially embarrassing on prime time games over the last decade or so? We’ve had some wins but the losses have been absolute disasters
This one didn't hit me in the gut the way similar games in the past have. The Jets have let me down so many times that I just laugh at them now. They're the NFL's sideshow.
Frankly the OP hit on something bigger than all the wiseass comments and I had been thinking about it also. I’ve been saying to myself, “when will we hit rock bottom”? there must be a loss, a red line, a pendulum swing, moment where we as a fanbase say “enough is enough”! All the games All the years All the pain All the false hope All the incompetence All the embarrassment can we ever unify as a group and make them change? can we stop buying jerseys and tickets? can we tell our friends families and bosses to stop feeding this disaster? can we stand together? sadly I think not. Im convinced that we have NOT hit the bottom. And we might not for 20 more years. It defies the odds but we suck always in all ways on all days and it’s a shame. A damn shame. We are all going to die before we see any Super Bowl. Dead Hope you’re happy going to meaningless football.
I mean you could name twenty more important games starting with the Houston fiasco in 1990-whatever when they lost 24-0 in a win or in game, plus losing to a horrible Lions team at home the year Al Groh's team choked away a playoff berth. Victor Cruz salsaing through our D in 2011 was the beginning of the end for Rex. Even meaningless games you could name a handful more embarassing just in the Kotite era - particularly the Tim Brown-Vance Joseph mismatch against the Raiders, also on national TV. There's also the year they lost to the 0-whatever Saints for their one win of the year in 1980 I think.
This game reminds me of the 11 and 5 Jets team that beat the Pats in the playoff in New England. That year we played the Pats in New England on Monday night. I was at that game. I took a good customer who lived in Boston who was a Jets fan to the game. I spent 1500 on two tickets on the 40 10 rows behind the Jets bench. I will never forget that game because it was a humiliation and the Pats fans in my section were as unmerciful to me as the Pats were to the Jets. The Pats beat us 45 to 3 in what at the time was nothing short of a complete beat down. We went into Foxboro several weeks later and beat them in the playoffs 28 21. This is like going to a crime scene and seeing yellow tape around a blood stain. The only question is was it murder or suicide? It felt like a lot of both. If this is who we really are move the franchise to Siberia.
