If we didn't have Mangold, Ramsey would be our QB right now because Chad would be nursing yet another injury.
I voted Chad for one reason. Most Valuable Player. Where would we be without Chad right now? I can tell you one thing.. we would not be contending for a playoff spot. I believe we could lose any one of those other players and still have a chance to be as good as we are now. However, without Chad at QB we would be suffering through another inconsistent season like last.
For those who think Chad is this year's MVP, get ready for a bold statement. With this year's coaching staff and this year's supporting cast (Mangold, DaBrick, Cotchery), Brooks Bollinger would actually look pretty good.
There is no question in my mind that it's Pennington. The offense is way ahead of where I thought it would be, and he's the reason. A close second would be Rhodes.
If this thread was made before the season Vilma would have over half the votes... Hurts to see it, but it's true. Hopefully he can grasp this system soon.
He did it again on the Lee Evans TD bomb...Kerry ran into the CB because they both jumped the first move....I think it was Barrett, and as Kerry and David are trying to regain their balance after both getting burned by one guy then bumping into eachother, we are being scored on with the 2nd big scoring play of the game.
Do you think that's what it means if someone votes for a different player? Does the thread say "Pick the team MVP, and thus state that the other players are useless."? Just because someone doesn't think he is the MVP does not mean they think he is unimportant...come on, that's common sense man.
I agree with you, but I would bet there are a ton of people on this board that find Pennington unimportant. We hear from them everyday.
i understand this,i was just reffering to the bashing he gets as if he has nothing to do with the 7 wins from the "start clemens when were in the middle of a playoff run" crowd
Not that he is an MVP, but if Thomas and Vilma are getting votes, no disrespect to them. But then D'Brickashaw has to have 1 vote, at least. He has kept Chad healthy all year, granit, Chad has been very average, but in terms of the LT position, he has more than done his job and protected Chad's blindside. That doesn't deserve a Team MVP, but I would give him more credit than Vilma and Thomas this year.
It depends how you look at an MVP. If MVP means most impressive player: KERRY RHODES If MVP means most VALUABLE player: CHAD PENNINGTON...just look at what we've done when he hasn't been in there.
I voted Chad. I think several others on the list have PLAYED better, but if Chad doesn't play this year, there's no way we're above 500 with Ramsey or Clemens. Without chad, we're hoping to get 5 or 6 wins by season's end.
LAst season Chad was hurt in week 3 and fumbled the ball a ton of times before we lost him....during those weeks and for the rest of the season our O-line was a mess. Mangold has come in and made EVERY line call day week 1 his job is to recognize when the d-line is trying to pull something off and tell the other O-linemen what to do. You don't think this ranks up there for importance? I can certainly why people would pick him even though I myself would not.
Kerry Rhodes is having the best year of anyone on the team but the MVP goes to Chad because he carries us, if he does not have a good game we lose. We can't win without him in the game. if someone replaced rhodes we could deal with it a lot more than chad.
