Darnold was classic "deer in the headlights". Pressure in his face and throwing off his back foot all game, not stepping into the throws. This idea of not letting him roll out and make plays is atrocious. That's a major part of his game and it was taken away from him by Gase. You've got to get him out in space - especially with this line. I know the idea was to protect him but he's in more danger staying in the pocket. I never thought I'd say this but Harrison would've been a better cal to play today at center. Kalil was not ready. Not even going to talk about the kicker. I'm rambling. Disgusted and rambling. At least we're not Miami or Cleveland.
I think most already know it. It's just hard to admit because it's the only thing we have to hang any hope on. If he's not the answer, then we're looking at adding another 4-5 years (at least) on to the playoff drought.
New year, different faces, but somehow always the same ol shit with this team. I need to take a break before this garbage franchise drives me insane. See you in October. Probably 0-5 by then but w/e.
Absolutely pathetic display of offensive coaching. At home being spotted 4 turnovers and 8 pts by the defense. What else do you need? Terrible
Don't praise this defense. They were solid until it mattered most. Then the D crumbled when it was time to show some . Same old shit.
I agree. I never liked his style since he started last year. He always looks jittery and nervous when he's about to make a throw. Feet always look like it's scrambling. Not sure why more people aren't picking up on this.
OL was terrible. Khalil wasn’t ready but we threw him out there anyway. Darnold definitely came up short when it mattered. Defense fell apart without Mosley. And the kicker ultimately cost us the game. This game just gets added to a long list of come from behind losses that the Jets have gifted us over the years.
You need to be able to score consistently to have a shot at winning in the NFL. Giving up 17 points should not be disastrous. Of course the D wasn't perfect, though. There's something to be said for Mosley's injury having this much of an impact on the game. I wonder what happened to his backup...
Give the Buffalo Pass D some credit, as they are pretty good; Jets have a mediocre passing game at best, so was anything else really expected here? Jets were outgained by Buff on Offense by 150 yards. Reality is Jets are still a few players + kicker away from being a serious contender.
I'm thinking we start probably about 0-6 at best. Had we been playing a good offense, we would have been destroyed. Honestly, I can see us going 0-16 with the way we played today.
this team is awful, i forget each offseason and then the first game or two comes around and it just reminds me why it is that being a Jets fan is the worst - I genuinely wish I could switch allegiances to another franchise because this team will never win a SB, never achieve consistent success, its just one of those teams - but after nearly 40 years its too late for me - if you are new to the Jets then switch now, save yourself
Only silver lining is maybe things get so bad that they have no choice but to can Gase midseason. What has this guy done in the league other than give Peyton Manning a play call to change at the line of scrimmage?
That I can agree with. This is Mac’s disaster he put together. Douglas is going to need 1-2 off seasons to fix this.
Watching senior citizen Eli rolling out making plays is even more confounding that Gase couldn't recognize that maybe utilizing Sam's ability to execute out of the pocket is one of his strengths. Very, very odd...
I wish I could like this more than once. Rooting for the Jets = the very definition of insanity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
