The closer it gets to Sunday I'm sure the more excited and anxious we're all becoming. I love 1:00 Sunday season openers. And being @ home for a 1:00 Sunday kickoff it gets no better. Can't wait to see our new uniforms with Sam Darnold leading the charge our first true franchise QB to build around and compete for since a young Chad Pennington. I want to see our G. Williams led defense make Josh Allen pay every time he takes off running as we have some hard hitters in Jamal Adams, Marcus Maye and C.J Mosley roaming our defense. Will also be fun to see both Leonard Williams and our top rookie prospect in Quinnen Williams both causing Allen havoc while going after him all day. And also an underrated topic of discussion both Henry Anderson @ DE & Jordan Jenkins at OLB; both recorded 7.5 sacks for our defense last year as another two who can get after a scrambling Allen. On offense I'm not going to lie I am so pumped to see Le'Veon Bell and curious how his presence alone will free open Robby Anderson for more one on one's on the outside. A healthy Enunwa is always something to be excited about and a natural slot WR in Jamison Crowder is an awesome addition for Sam Darnold but damn am I excited to see Le'Veon Bell a Jet and I know Sam Darnold feels the same way; a true luxury for a developing Franchise gun and Our O-Line could be great moving forward too due to a lot of veteran leadership and experience now.
This take really needs to be shot into the sun. Roberts's big year was because of excellent ST blocking, nothing else. Roberts was mostly below average his entire career until last year and now he's on the + side of 30.
Reminds me when Buffalo signed Brad Smith for a ton of money after he was with us. He went on to do nothing with them. Brad Smith was great but a lot of it was Westhoff. Buffalo, some things just never change. I don't expect Roberts to do much, if he even plays against us.
Le'Veon Bell's message to Adam Gase: 'Don't hold back' With all the bullshit surrounding Antonio Brown...it's nice to have a star player eager to hit the field. Lots of people thought Le'Veon was gonna be a problem child...but that hasn't been the case (so far). I'm not gonna go all Warrior or DWC quite yet...but I'm pretty stoked. The Bills have a very good defense, so this opener will be a good test of our new & improved offense. Jets - 27 Bills - 20
So obviously on our teams respective boards, homerisim is out in full swing. Allen and Darnold will be throwing the ball all over the field for the win and boths Ds will be reaking havoc. Both teams had good offseasons and fans of each team will tell you their team had the better one respectively, which is always the case. Its always funny to me you get sections of each fan base acting like their team is ssssooo much better. Like Bflo is always terrible, or how terrible it must be to be a Jets fan. Fact is, both teams have been afce punching bags and havent done much to hang their hats on - yet optimism is at a high neither team has seen for years due to the competency of the current regimes and their being young stars in the qb room. 1st games of the season always yield some upsets people dont recgonize as upsets yet because the season is so new and teams have yet to establish their trends. For example, the Bills got blown out last year (even had a halftime retirement) but as the season progressed their D shifted into a top unit. Allen went from deer in headlights to the game slowing down. Just as Darnold moved on from his 1st pass pick to comeback wins by seasons end. Preseason is meaningless, but Bills fans are hoping to see the Allen that went 9-11 with a throwaway and a drop rather than 40% etc - but the fact is, we dont know what to expect yet. We know what we WANT to see... but i dont see where (outside of having fun and sticking to the company line) either fan base has a right to be cocky. Both want to see their new toys in game action but when push comes to shove.. i dont see how either fan base can say 'i expect the xxxx to crush the xxxx' because, really, we just dont know. I just like these teams play week one bc its shaping up to be a great rivalry for now and for years to come and itll also be a great measuring stick for later on in the season when they meet again. Itll be a good fun game and hopefully injury free. Good luck guys!! Enjoy!!!
I expect the Jets to crush the Bills because the Jets are ssssooo much better, Bflo is always terrible, and it's terrible to be a Bills fan. Yours truly, Homer of the Jets
You can't shut it down till it's proven to be worth shutting down. The fact is, he was electric last year, he went to the pro bowl for a reason, and he had a decent preseason with the Bill's. You can't just claim something nullified until it's been proven so. So, no, I will continue to hold my concern until proven otherwise. Thanks though.
So let’s just ignore the fact that last year he averaged 7 yards more / kickoff return than any other year in his career? Just like Myers had an outlier of a year, so did Roberts. Hell, the guy might not even play this week.
I predict it comes down to a Kaare Vedvik field goal at the end. Relatively low scoring 19-17 or something when he takes the field and tries to win it
Just about 48 hours til kickoff and I can't wait. Should be a good home crowd and a fun game. I see a close game being played like many have said. Fears 1. Buffalo defense is legit. Darnold played well late against them. Herndon will be missed. Crowder will be an important piece along with Montgomery and Bell. Stats from last year said the Bills can be run against. If true we need to. Anderson a little banged up and a good Bills secondary will be tough. 2. Josh Allen scares me in the way he runs and the ability to throw a good deep ball. Forster and Brown deep are a concern. If we keep Allen from running we should be ok. 3. Mcdermott is a good coach and laways has his team ready to play. Feel the Bills have a slight edge in coaching. 4. Vedvik scares me too. Shaky with the Vikes. Never kicked in an NFL game let alone MetLife. If the game comes down to a fg late which it could not signing Myers or another veteran will show in this game. Pros 1. I feel defensively we can limit the Bills offense. 2. Darnold year two will be better. Has Bell as an option to help with the load and Kalil should help with the line. Overall I see this being a close game. I think the Jets win 24-20. Definitely could go the other way but I think being at home helps the Jets get the win. Hopefully I'm right. We'll see Sunday at about 4.
I think Jets fans shit far too much on Allen. He can throw deep, which is a problem when you have dogshit at the corners, and he can get loose and scramble, which can absolutely deflate a defense when it can't get off the field. Bills D is legit, Jets could easily struggle to move the ball. This is always a tough game, I expect it to be close.
