1- Houston and Leon did a good job considering the defense knew that we were either going to pass for less than 10 yards or run the ball. 2-Nugent was 2/2 3-Mangold was solid and will be great in years to come 4-Miller is always a threat in KR 5-I wouldn't say Vilma had a bad game. I think Hobson and Barton are too slow so they can't catch up to McGahee's speed. 6-We have still surpass expactations. We are 7-6 7-Still in the playoff hunt I only thought of 7 positives in today's game. I know today was a shitty day but lets just talk about positive things in this thread.
Mangold is a truly major positive. The guy totally has the look of a perennial all-pro. He is steady as they come and we really struck the gold mine there. Mangini had a great first draft aside from the 3rd round (Schlegal and Smith) and I eagerly await this April.
I guess he expects that every rookie is suppose to start and make an impact especially if you are drafted in the 3rd round.
Whose "he", me? Look. Any of these small positives don't come close to making up for this piece of shit performance.
I personally thought there were better players in the 3rd round still available than Schegel and Eric Smith, but Mangini has done a good job with them.
When Brad Smith (4th round), Leon Washington (4th Round) and Drew Coleman (6th Round) have been regular contributers I do have some doubts when our two 3rd round picks have done next to nothing. Could they emerge in the future? Of course. But, they don't (at least at this point) seem like impact players.
How did Benny go? Is it true, he made a nice tackle? If so, with my limited knowledge of NFL.....the jets must have been in all sorts of trouble.
1) Don't agree 2) Agree 3) Don't agree... not tons of holes 4) Agree 5) Very bad game... you are right, not just bad, AWFUL. 6) When you're 7-5, expectations go out the window 7) Not really.
Your #1 and #3 surprise me. Elaborate more plz. I think our running backs did a great job. Don't u remember how houston and leon took us to buffalo territory and then we got to 4th and inches and we didn't go for it. Pennington was ineffective not because of our running game today. And Mangold is a stud. Elaborate.
7. even if this team makes the playoffs, does anybody seriously think the Jets are capable of doing anything in the post-season? with everything to play for today, they got embarassed by the Buffalo Bills. They looked like the Kotite / Coslet era jets.
1- Houston and Leon did a good job considering the defense knew that we were either going to pass for less than 10 yards or run the ball. - They did OK... The O-Line gave Chad no time and gave holes inconsistantly. 2-Nugent was 2/2 - We expect a NFL kicker to make those kicks. 3-Mangold was solid and will be great in years to come. - Ok.. but I thought of him like that weeks ago. 4-Miller is always a threat in KR. - Yeah! 5-I wouldn't say Vilma had a bad game. I think Hobson and Barton are too slow so they can't catch up to McGahee's speed. -Vilma was OK but let his buddy run for over 100 yards. 6-We have still surpass expactations. We are 7-6. They surpass expectations weeks ago when they got their 5th win. 7-Still in the playoff hunt. But we could be very much in the playoffs if we won.
are these positives also: 1) can't stop the run 2) the team has no identity 3) no playmakers on offense 4) players are stupid and/or think they're better than they are (e.g. d-rob celebrating a tackle for a loss when you're down 31-13 late in the 4th Q) 5) Pennington's jekyl/hide performances and his lollipop arm 6) sketchy playcalling 7) can't stop the run
oright ok if you wanna talk about negatives we can go on and on all day. This thread wasn't meant for that. We got killed this game NO SHIT. The purpose of this thread is to look at the positives so we won't have nightmares till we win our next game.
Vilma didn't have a bad game? In between plays I kept having to look for him to make sure he was still on the field. It didn't seem like he was ever near the ball today..
