Love or hate the pick , attacking him as a person really shows your true colors. Lots of ignorant ,racist fucks on this board. Referring to this post and the draft post. Not a fan of the pick, would have preferred Allen after Bosa went but I'm not going to attack the player. That's just fucked up, and If my voicing my feelings on this is worthy of a ban, so be it.
doesnt make sense why we drafted Shepard and resigned Henry Anderson. Depth is good, but you cant get all of these guys on the field at the same time
This is the positive thread right? Can someone direct a depressed jet fan to the negative nellies unwelcome Quinnen thread?
I get this feeling too. It's like coming to terms with the fact that your QB is totally immobile. It's not the end of the world, but... (sigh)
3-4 DE’s this decade have become what TE’s were for us years ago.. How will this be any different than the 4 other 3-4 guys we picked this decade? And I mean from a style stand point-wasn’t the problem, the main problem, that “the sons of anarchy” all played the same style and thus couldn’t work? So the 5th time is the charm?
I’m in, it’ll probably take some pressure off Leonard Williams. Glass half full... I was just a little baffled that they didn’t take Josh Allen when he was there. Dare I say it....Ed Oliver seems like he would’ve been more impactful. It just seems a little odd. But....he hasn’t played yet so...glass half full.
Teams were not as high on JA as the media and a lot of Jets fans were, It's obvious. The dude dropped to the 7th pick of this draft. Maybe there is more to this then we realize, I wasn't extremely high on JA personally, but I am a bit surprised he fell to the 7th pick of the draft as well. Also, I don't think the QB anxiety was as high in this draft, I feel like we just didn't have the offers sitting there that made sense to trade back on, and that's unfortunate because I really hoped we could recoup that 2nd rounder we lost, but we got a dominate player, so I'm not too salty. This draft is interesting, just wish the third round wasn't so far away at this point. :/
ESPN made some interesting points-- that Brady hates pressure up the middle... and that interior DL depth means pressure and sacks in the fourth quarter, which the Jets have absolutely sucked at.
C.J Mosley just joined forces with another Alabama kid in Q. Williams. C.J Mosley @ MLB behind two hogs in Leonard/Quinnen is going to be fun to watch. Do you know how many QB hits Leonard Williams has put up since being drafted? A lot. Leonard and Q will smell out and stuff the run and absolutely tee off on QBs too. I'm excited.
Right! Just like we had with the sons of anarchy..I have no idea when 3-4 ends became the most important position in football-but the last few regimes have bought in hook, line and sinker
The Jets' pass rush will be better in 2019. I'd rather have Q. Williams coached by Greg Williams over N. Bosa, J. Allen, C. Ferrell, E. Oliver, and C. Wilkins combined coached by Kacy Rodgers.
Regardless of 3-4 NT or 4-3 DT the trenches are super physical and extremely important for a defense. Line up Q. Williams @ NT within a 3-4. With Leonard Williams alongside of him @ 3-4 DE. Tell them to stuff the run and attack the QB. More importantly? lol bye bye Steve McLendon who I've hated. He is no K. Jenkins and/or Snacks Harrison. Therefore guys like C.J Mosley, Darron Lee and Avery Williamson no longer have to Linebacker behind "Steve McLendon" but instead now a potential beast animal in QUINNEN WILLIAMS ala a #3 overall pick. Josh Allen was a sexy pick but Q. Williams has the potential to elevate an entire defense if he's the force up the middle that many claim he is.
