A number of experts have expressed concern over the type of injury that he suffered last season. They believe with the position he plays and the way he plays, it could become a constant issue. Also, his brother has had some injury issues and since they have similar builds and playing styles, that causes some concern as well.
That thought has occurred to me, and after Mac failed to sign a center in FA, I'm sure that he's feeling like he has to get a center in the 2nd round.
I think Mac did that very thing by not drafting Mahomes or Watson in 2017 (he had taken Hack in the 2nd round the year before).
That would be AMAZING!!!! Bosa or Allen would be good picks at 3 IMO. If we trade out it would be nice to get a 2nd this year and a 1st for next year in the deal. If Mac does not pick O-line by the end of the 3rd round that will be disappointing AF. I am going to be stuck on a plane for the first two hours of the draft so that sucks.
I'm absolutely convinced we are (and should) stick at #3 and take Bosa or Allen. I think a lot of the trade down scenarios are based on getting offensive line help e.g., Center. We have two 3rd round selections. I say we package those and move up to take a Center in the mid-2nd round. This way we get our Edge Rusher and Center for the next 10 years.
I predict at the end of the day that Darnold, Allen and Rosen will all be working for teams in the AFC East.
Another day another defensive tackle. What should be a day of joy and fulfillment of a lifetime hole at the edge position will once again be taken away from us by a terrible and I’d go as far to say cruel GM. Depressed and bewildered we will cry out but it will be in vain as we will have our screams stifled by the wool of the casual sheep fans. The sheep will cry Ba Ba BPA. And will then wonder why Quinnen or Oliver only have 4 sacks. They must need help, they are getting doubled. These are just the two most popular excuses you will hear. This has been a year in the making. A DT class like this will prove way too much for Mac. Don’t be surprised if we take more then one DT in this draft. At DT we already have Leo, Henry and McClendon. At edge we have... uhhhh we have... uhhhh Jordan Jenkins woo. But the position of DT has won Macs heart and capitviated his soul for years. The only hope is a trade down folks
Best case scenario we get lucky again...SF takes Williams The problem is fans watch these draft shows and think every DT prospect is gonna be Warren Sapp or Donald...those guys come around once a decade most of these DTs turn out to be 4 sack a year guys..not to mention a fairly easy position to fill in free agency.
THE DRAFT HAS STARTED! The CNBC stock picking draft, that is, and this probably belongs in the BS section but we're just killing time today, right? Last year's winner, Nick Lowery, is there and Noah Syndergaard is on the clock as I type. Anybody have a problem with Jarvis Green calling his team the Green Machine?
I'm sort of in "Bosa or bust" mode, meaning if he's there I want him and if not I want them to trade out. Mostly because I think he's the only "sure thing" to be a QB molester in the top of this draft. I had to hear how Leonard Williams falling to the Jets was the "best player in the draft", meanwhile in 4 seasons he's totaled 17 sacks. He's not bad, don't get me wrong. He's a SOLID player, and I actually like him a lot. But if I'm picking a D-end at the top of the draft, he better be getting to the QB with regularity. Otherwise I'd rather just accrue more picks when we only have 6 (and no 2s).
