I don't think they would trade him but the Chargers 28th pick would be nice. Probably too much. A 2nd is a possibility. At this point I'd keep him. No one we are drafting for the return would be better. See what Greg Williams can do for him plus the added defenders.
Lucky to get a third for him...whoever trades for hiw will have to pay him and that makes the value less.
I am starting to sense some not so deep lying hatred for Leo, why has this all of a sudden sparked up? If I was being cynical I would suggest you are wumming to keep the board ticking over
I was watching draft coverage and I am getting warmer and warmer to Q.Williams at 3. If we were to do that, then Leo would become a luxury with his cap hit. Hence the thread. I am a 245 LB fatty myself. Not shaming him at all but he has been underwhelming hence my calling him kitty. Looks like a lion roars like a cat. "One sack a game" my ass.
I think we need to see him with a true defensive coach and not fucking Bowles schemes, I would be inclined to offer him a one year prove it deal or make it easy for us to get out of after one year if he is still under performing, it is obvious he hasn't been as good as we hoped but not awful. Now is his time to shine if not this season then it is cya later.
Trading any of our primary defensive players, i.e. Lee or Leo at this stage, especially before we have an opportunity to see what a good coach and scheme can do IMHO is asinine. I hope people come to realize very soon, as in this year, that the Bowles/Casey combination was the worst coaching mistake ever. I too, have warmed up to Q, although I like Allen the most for us and I have a sneaky suspicious Oliver is highly regarded by many and would not be a major shock as the dark horse. What surprises me the most is how many folks here think the Jets don't like Allen. Where is that coming from? If there is one constant about Mac and his staff, you never really know what they are truly thinking. So, as of now I think if there is no trade and Allen is sitting there at three, they will get the #1 Jersey and run to the podium to shake his hand.
Agree with what you are saying. I disagree on Lee. Definitely think he is an athlete but not a good middle linebacker. Maybe Williams can get the best out of him but the Jets still have many needs and if they can get a pick or move up higher in the draft trading him and a lower pick I'd do it. Have a chance for that other player to develop or help in an area of need. Just my thoughts. As for Q definitely warming up to him. Can't say I love another d-tackle but they say he is the best available.
People are probably assuming Mac doesn't like Allen due to the fact it seems an open secret he is willing to trade down, if he liked Allen then trading down wouldn't be the rumour, then again he could be bluffing but to what purpose?
