I know Mangini hasn't coached a down yet, but I like what I see in the first two weeks. With all the issues the jets have , all the negative publicity that they have received both locally and nationally, I have yet to hear a quote from him. And that is the way it should be. he seems to be going about his business and not giving the media the time of day. Herm was the first to stand up and give long drawn out press conferences, stupid quotes to the media, and always throwing the optomistic view out there. Let's face it, the Jets are in trouble and Mangini seems to be realizing this. Instead of standing up there and trying to convince everyone its going to be ok, he seems to be moving toward tearing it all down.

he knows he can't win with pennington. herm probably knew it going into last year too. but he stands up there and preaches all this optomism, he had no choice but to support chad.

I love what is going on right now. Maybe I won't in 3 years, when Chad wins a Superbowl with Chicago, but right now I love what is happening. We are going to blow it all up. If you aren't in the future plans and if you aren't willing to relieve our cap problem, get out. I couldn't be happier.

In order for the team to turn around, some drastic changes need to be made. Some of them might break our hearts, but they're doing what they believe they need to do in order to build a championship team. I think. Still a bit early to tell I suppose.

Our new coach is taking a page out of the BB-Parcells handbook. Namely, control all information that is released about your team as to not allow your opposition to know exactly what is going on or what you are thinking. To be honest, what I'm really looking forward to, will be some of the speculation that some of our fellow posters will submit now that Herm isn't blabbing all our secrets to the press, allowing our opposition to game-plan against, or block, our moves to improve this team. This should be a very interesting season.

I agree. The only things I need to hear now is what is going on with the players that need addressing. Chad, Abe, Law, even Curtis and Kevin etc. That Rah Rah crap gets old fast when it's the CS that's doing it. So far, so good.

I really don't see how handling the media well (especially in NY) is a bad thing.

Get rid of everyone if you have to. I like the moves. What have we accomplished as an organization over the past few decades? This team fails year after year except for a glimmer of hope here or there that ultimately amounts nothing. Get everyone out of here, and start over. What's the worst that could happen? We'll have to watch season after season of crappy Jets football? What else is new?
