That's a take/opinion that settles my mind a little (puts down glass of Draino), but I'm still not thrilled with it. What's that quote about history again, something about doomed to repeat it?
Yeah, but lets be honest. You're also being stubborn to the facts too. You are blindly supporting whatever moves the Jets are making right now. I respect optimistic perspective, I've always tried to do the same, but all of this simply doesnt inspire hope. It just doesnt. You act like they hired Loggains just to hire him. The point with many fans on this board is that everywhere that Loggains has went, the offense has been worse for it. I'm about to research what the offense has done in the destinations he had a role with the teams offense. I have not done so yet admittedly. Either way, there is plenty to be concerned about, to bitch about, to shit on with this fucking team. You don't have to look hard either. When was the last time we had a dominate offense? Made the playoffs? Had a team that was worth being hopeful in? Jesus, i could just keep going. Not worth though. Again, appreciate the optimism, however, ownership of this team is a joke and I've lost hope with such a moronic hire in Gase to begin with. We deserve better... Blaming anyone for "bitching" just isn't logical to me anymore.
I am NOT supporting the hire. I don't love the hire. I am just not going to bitch and whine and moan about it.
this OC title is more like offensive "collaborator"....... i don't put much into this position. he's on the payroll for what, 500k, chump change for the J's to appease the Gase man.
Every other hire Gase has made has been great.Bringing in a high profile big ego w what’s already here would be a disaster. Gotta have some Ying with that yang. Gase is already on record saying hes running the offense & focusing on Sam while minimizing his defensive input. This OC job was always gonna be a yes man, low profile type. If all hes doing is running practice & charting from the box on gameday Theres not alot to jump for joy OR bitch about.
There is so much shit these head coaches have to deal with, you need to have someone to run the offensive show with. Gase made it sound like his coaching staff hires in Miami were rushed, and he was going to take his time here to get the right guys. Do you honestly have Loggains as the right guy? Biggest issue, what are the positives of this move? What did Loggains accomplish with Trubisky that made him a better candidate than guys like Cooter, Zampese, Linehan, DeFilippo (I know he's been hired, just using him to make a point)? The guy has a poor track record in the league already, and Gase/Loggains didn't exactly set the world on fire together in Miami. When it comes to Gase being the only guy that develops Darnold, that's a fallacy. Development comes in all phases of the game, and he's going to be coached by the OC at some point. On the field, or in the classroom it's going to happen. For a guy that "lives" for football (Gase), you would think he'd want to surround himself with coaches that could broaden his scope of the game. Not bring in some guy "to bounce ideas off". When you continue to do the same thing and expect different results.....
He was making super funny sarcastic post because he chooses to ignore facts and whine about maybe the 4th most important piece of evidence that suggests Loggains is clueless.
Pollack, I'm surprised some genius hasn't made any tasteless Polish jokes yet (even though it's spelled Polack). How does the new OL Coach attempt to commit suicide? By jumping out of a basement window! I'm digging the Kenny Loggins thing, which I take full credit for. : )
Look, nobody knows if any of these guys have any connection to Gase and whether they'd want the position. Or whether we talked to any of them. Again, I'm not saying Loggains is a great hire but Gase seems to see something that we all don't. He's the coach.
Valid point to say perhaps no one wanted the gig. However, I think that's a hard pill to swallow when you have a highly touted rookie QB. Maybe he knows how he takes his coffee.
Not as angry as the guy who has unprovoked temper tantrums because some mean man on the internet (and really, anyone with a brain who has weighed in on Loggains) suggested, with facts included, someone the Jets hired may be awful at their job. Classic Stokes.
And that's pure speculation which is fine. Gase will probably use him as his errand boy and if he feels comfortable with Loggains in that role, I'm going to give Gase that lattitude. None of us have any idea what any of these guys talents or lack of talents are and how much of success and failure was due to circumstances or due to the coaching.
