NFL | More on owner's meeting Wed, 8 Mar 2006 15:28:23 -0800 ESPN.com's John Clayton reports, as noted earlier, NFL owners are studying at least four different revenue plans. There is a Pittsburgh model being pushed by Dan and Art Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The plan would have each team put 25 percent of local revenues into a pool that would be distributed to teams in the lower end of the revenue streams. There is a New England Patriots/New York Jets model that expands on an already existing local revenue sharing plan. Currently, $40 million of local revenue is being shared. The Patriots/Jets model expands that number significantly. At this point no system has the 24 votes needed to pass.
it really is... i cant take another 3 day delay. all this player speculation is killing me i wanna get to live thing now
Would you prefer waiting the three days, or would you prefer to never see the salary cap in the NFL again?
This is getting a bit out of hand. Either come up with an agreement, or except the fact that it won't get done this year. Having such a flexible deadline diminishes its importance.
This is the shortest extension yet. To only add two hours tells me they have enough on the table to feel confident that they can agree on one of them by the end of the night. I just can't believe we are in bed with the Pats. What has this world COME to?
ESPNEWS: NFL Labor Deal Likely to get Done Tonight Vic Carucci of NFL.com was just on ESPNEWS, and said that within the last hour or so a revenue plan has come forward that pleases and makes sense for all owners, but it is VERY complicated. Jerry Jones said the deal is closer and closer to getting done. Carucci said he expects something to be announced in the next few hours saying that a deal has been reached, they just need to digest all of this complicated info to make it official.
