oh boyy, sign this beast. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/01/01/report-antonio-brown-has-asked-for-a-trade/
Just because he asked for one does't mean the Steelers will accommodate. Look what they did with Bell.
Lets see how this plays out. Wonder if the Steelers part ways with Tomlin because of all these player issues. I’d prefer Tomlin over any candidate being linked to the Jets right now.
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I want nothing to do with AB on this team. I want him nowhere near Darnold. It's a disaster waiting to happen. I'll let someone else deal with that headache - if the Steelers decide to move him. He's an incredible player on the field, but off it, he's not the guy you want to bring into this locker room with a developing, young QB.
Totally. We should keep one of the if not the best wr in nfl history away from our young qb. Would hate to surround him w that kind of talent.
Trade for the Beast! Sign Bell, trade for Brown, and become Pittsburgh North! Yeah, I agree. The Steelers are the most dramatic and cry baby roster in the league. They overreact emotionally to everything. Maybe that is Tomlin's fault, I am not sure. I doubt anything comes of this. Brown is too good.
I don't think it's that simple. You are completely ignoring the baggage this dude comes with. He is one of the most selfish players this league has and cares nothing about winning. I get it. He's arguably the best WR in the game, but there's more to it than that. You cannot ignore it. Last time I checked, the Steelers have won nothing with AB playing at the top of his game for years, while other teams won superbowls without him.
Per: Mike Florio Based on his contract, not much — without taking a massive cap hit. Thanks to a $19 million signing bonus paid in 2017 and a $12.96 million restructure bonus paid in 2018, the Steelers would carry $21.12 million in dead money if they cut or trade Brown. (They could release him in March with a post-June 1 designation, resulting in $7.04 million counting against 2019 and $14.08 million counting against 2020.) Whenever a decision is made, something needs to happen by the fifth day of the league year, which begins in March. That’s when Brown earns another $2.5 million roster bonus. Presumably, the Steelers would want to cut or trade him before then. If they even want to cut or trade him. But with JuJu Smith-Schuster, the team’s 2018 MVP, emerging as a great player and the Steelers surely weary of a never-ending circus with Brown that traces at least back to his ill-advised locker-room Facebook Live routine after a playoff win over the Chiefs, it could be time for the two sides to separate. Unfortunately for the Steelers, it may be impractical from a cap standpoint.
It’s legit that simple. He throws a tantrum sometimes. WHO CARES. He’s the best wr of the modern era. Get over it. Steelers not winning w AB is not Bc of AB let’s get that straight real fast. To say no to him Bc he isn’t a choir boy and stomps his feet from time to time is the epicenter of jets loser mentality.
amen. i want no part of brown or bell. if the steelers can't control them, what makes you think the jets can? two words: santanio holmes i rest my case.
Hes 30 & a big time diva. The Vet WR id be interested in if available is Julio.Still 29 Brings something totally different to offense.
We need to find a talented WR in this draft. AB is not the guy to pair with young Darnold. If he makes one bad pass or misses him when he's wide open, AB will throw a fit.
Don't trade for him, hope they release him. How funny would it be if the Jets signed both Bell and Brown this off season and then somehow the Steelers fire Tomlin and he joins the Jets as well. I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat, then you just draft all oline/edge, resign most of their FAs then they are set.
